Korea Land and Geospatial Information Corp. (LX), marking its 44th anniversary, declared its determination to pursue ESG management on June 30.
LX held a ceremony to declare labor and management¡¯s joint bid to pursue ESG management on the occasion of its 44th anniversary, which fell on July 1. It also signed an MOU on cooperation on shared growth with Jeonju City.
ESG refers to non-financial elements such as environment, social and governance. It is a management paradigm designed to fulfill environmental and social responsibilities and pursue sustainable growth through the strengthening of transparent management.
The ceremony was held under the slogan ¡°Future-Oriented, Warming Society.¡±

Among those on hand at the event were LX President Kim Jung-ryul, Jeonju Mayor Kim Seung-soo, President Park Ji-hyun of Korea Electrical Safety Corp., Dir.-Gen. Nam Young-woo in charge of geospatial policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), LX non-standing director Kim Jeong-bum.
LX designated three strategies: spearheading the nation¡¯s realization of carbon neutrality by 2050, realizing social values through geospatial information, and pursing fair, transparent management along with people.
To this end, LX aims to replace 100 percent of its electricity consumption with renewable energies and pursue no carbon emissions. It also pledged to reduce garbage and waste in all management sectors.
Furthermore, LX plans to solve land and urban issues through digital innovation of the geospatial information sector, expand support for geospatial information startups and programs to nurture manpower and promote international cooperation to solve global land and poverty issues.
LX plans to strengthen its law-abiding monitoring regime for transparent governance, protect people¡¯s right to know and expand communications with stakeholders and heighten the transparency of a decision-making process through public notice of the ESG management category.
In particular, LX struck an MOU on cooperation in shared growth with Jeonju City to provide support to build infrastructure for an exemplary city.
Meanwhile, during the ESG management declaration ceremony, Chu Da-hyun and Kim Youn-soo were honored with top prizes in the ESG management and public entity innovation categories of an ESG management idea contest, respectively.
LX President Kim said, ¡°Now, ESG is a must road we have to walk.¡± He expressed hope the declaration of ESG management will be an important step to pursue everyone¡¯s inclusive green recovery and sustainable development.
