Strikes deal with Angkasa Pura I to build photovoltaic power-based clean energy systems at three Indonesian airports

KEPCO KDN signed an MOU with Angkasa Pura I to build photovoltaic power-based clean energy systems at three Indonesian airports.
The deal is part of KEPCO KDN¡¯s efforts to expand the renewable energy business in Indonesia.
Lee Chang-yeol, head of KEPCO KDN¡¯s overseas business division, CEO Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah of Angkasa PuraPerperti, CEO Lara Assetyo Wibowo of PGNCOM and CEO Kim Sung-woo of Very Words participated in a teleconference.
Angkasa Pura I operates 15 airports, including Surabaya Airport in Java and Bali Airport. Angkasa PuraPerperti, a subsidiary of Angkasa Pura I, specializes in the development and maintenance of airport facilities.
Under the deal, KEPCO KDN will team up with PGNCOM, a subsidiary of the state-run gas company PGAS, Very Words, a Korean SME, to build photovoltaic power-based energy preservation systems with a combined capacity of 60MW at Ngurah Rai, El Tari and North Bali airports.
They agreed to expand the renewable energy business to airports run by Angkasa Pura I.
The deal came in accordance with the Indonesian government¡¯s policies to preserve energy consumption through renewable energies such as photovoltaic power. It is expected to offer a boon to Indonesia, grappling with an energy crisis, coupled with declining fossil fuel reserves.
A KEPCO KDN official said his company will not only share renewable energy experience, IT and power system technologies, but also make every effort to develop solutions suiting the Southeast Asian country through diverse ideas in accordance with the deal.
Meanwhile, KEPCO KDN had implemented overseas photovoltaic power and smart city projects such as the 54MW photovoltaic power plant project in Hitachi City, Japan, as well as microgrid and smart city projects in Korea and abroad.
The Korean electric power grid IT service provider is devoting itself to carrying out Green New Deal official development assistance (ODA) projects in conjunction with the Korean government¡¯s ¡°New Southern Countries¡± initiative.
