Dong-A Pharmaceutical has released ¡°Minimax Jungle Vitamin D,¡± a boon for stay-at-home children who are prone to suffer from vitamin D deficiency.

People are not finding it easy to get an their daily dose of vitamin D lately, since cold temperatures and the COVID-19 pandemic have forced them to stay indoors most of he time.

Vitamin D is dubbed ¡°the sunshine vitamin¡± since it normally comes from sun exposure.

Generally, people need to be exposed to sunlight for between 15 minutes and 30 minutes to get an appropriate daily dose of vitamin D, but social distancing due to the pandemic is making that nearly impossible for most people.

Vitamin D is a representative nutrient for bone growth. It helps the absorption of calcium, thus raising bone density.
Children in a stage of bone growth are recommended to have a daily dose of vitamin D.

Vitamin D deficiency is warned to potentially stunt growth.

When outdoor activities are refrained, vitamin D may be taken through food.

But in reality, there are not many foods rich with vitamin D. Greasy fish, eggs, butter and liver contain high levels of vitamin D, but large amounts of food need to be eaten. Getting enough of the essential vitamin through food is not easy.

Many children now find it difficult to enjoy enough sunlight due to social and environmental factors. Given the current situation, taking health functional foods is recommended.

Minimax Jungle Vitamin D, released by Dong-A Pharmaceutical, contains 200IU of vitamin as a functional supplement for children in a stage of growth.

The figure corresponds to 100 percent of the required daily nutrient intake for children aged between 3 and 11.

Dong-A Pharmaceutical¡¯s Children Health Research Center designed the Minimax product based on the ¡°MMX Solution¡± principle: Reducing excessive nutrients to prevent excessive intake and adding deficiencies on top of five fruits and vegetables and fructooligosaccharides, an auxiliary raw material known as prebiotics.

The Minimax product can be purchased at the Dmall, Dong-A Pharmaceutical¡¯s official brand mall.

A Dong-A Pharmaceutical official said, ¡°Children are prone to suffer vitamin D deficiency since they spend most of their life at home.¡±

The official expressed hope that Minimax Jungle Vitamin D will facilitate children¡¯s growth and development.
