Amorepacific Group Chairman Suh Kyung-bae gave a new year’s message for 2021 on Jan. 4 in which he called for customer-oriented management, the spirit of building the group.

Amorepacific, which suffered sagging business performances last year, presented its management tenet for 2021 to overcome a crisis: “Winning Together.” Chairman Suh emphasized a change to survive “a great transitional period that has been never experienced by any one before.”

Amorepacific Group’s ceremony to launch the 2021 business year was televised live on-line. In his video message, Chairman Suh said, “A mindset shift toward the changing of customers and distribution is badly needed.”

Chairman Suh said Amorepacific Group plans to implement three strategies: Strong brand, digital transformation, and reforming of business fundamentals.

“Seeing first before anyone, launching it first, and making it successful will have to be remembered as ways of preoccupying customers’ minds and advancing,” he said.

As for the three implementation strategies, Chairman Suh called for nurturing engine products to realize strong brands. He also called for swift digital transformation,. Improving fundamentals to achieve profitable growth.

Amorepacific plans to improve profit and loss structure by reducing non-essential expenditures and inefficiencies and realize new success story models by reforming fundamentals of off-line outlets.

Chairman Suh said, “Even though the times have changes, people’s desires for beauty and health will be unchanged.” “If we prepare for the future in which market and consumption will be restored, and consumers will look for reliable brands and products, we will translate the current situation into groundwork for being successful,” he said.

Amorepacific participated in CES 2021, the world’s largest consumer electronics and technology show, which was held virtually from Jan. 11 to 14 and displayed two CES 2021 Innovation Award honorees.

Amorepacific’s award-winning technology honorees are the customized lip makeup manufacturing system ‘Lip Factory by Color Tailor’ and the instant active toner blending device ‘Formularity’.”

The CES 2021 Innovation Award Honoree ‘Lip Factory by Color Tailor’ is an integrated online-offline lip makeup manufacturing system. It utilizes the AI-based mobile application ‘Color Tailor’ to recommend customized lip makeup colors.

The pigment dispensing system ‘Lip Factory’ then can manufacture the customized product immediately on-site. In total, the ‘Lip Factory by Color Tailor’ can recommend and produce over 2,000 shades of lip color makeup.

The instant active toner blending device ‘Formularity’. The at-home beauty device makes a new dose of skincare product for use each time and delivers it on a cotton pad for hygienic application.

From a selection of skincare ampoules mounted on the device, ‘Formularity’ first blends a dose of the selected ampoule in a liquid toner base.

It then soaks a pre-inserted cotton pad with the blended formula and heat or cools the soaked cotton pad to an ideal temperature for skin absorption.

Up to three different skincare ampoules can be installed in the device, making it versatile for changing everyday skin conditions.
