LS Group carried out a reshuffle of executives for next year, placing third-generation heirs-apparent like President Koo Bon-hyuk and Senior Executive Vice President Koo Bon-kyu at the forefront of management.

The latest personnel change, also retaining CEOs of major subsidiaries, may be construed as the group¡¯s step to pursue change & stability.

Each subsidiary of LS Group held a board of directors¡¯ meeting on Nov. 24 and carried out its reshuffle. Among 31 promotions in the latest reshuffle were Koo Bon-hyuk of Yesco Holdings, promoted to president, and Moon Hae-gyu of LS Automotive, promoted to senior executive vice president, and 13 newly inaugurated directors.

Senior Executive Vice President Koo Bon-hyuk of Yesco Holdings, the third-generation offspring of the late LS Nikko-Copper chairman Koo Ja-myung, was promoted to president and CEO.

Senior Executive Vice President Koo Bon-gyu of LS Mtron, the son of LS Cable & System Chairman Koo Ja-yeop, was appointed to be CEO.

Executive Vice President Chung Chang-si of Yesco was inaugurated as CEO.

Executive Vice President Koo Dong-hui of LS Corp., the holding company of LS Group, and the son of LS Group Chairman Christopher Koo, was transferred and promoted to COO of E1.

An LS group official said LS Group conducted the latest reshuffle of executives with a focus on stabilizing its operation without making big structural changes in the wake of rising economic uncertainties.

The personnel change was characterized by promoting a multitude of talented manpower in the R&D field like overseas businesses and digital transformation, particularly in a perspective of preparing for future growth, the official added.

New President Koo Bon-hyuk, a graduate of Gyeongbok High School, obtained an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles.

He held positions with the management planning team of LS Corp., head of the Support Division and chief of the Business Division at LS Nikko-Copper and head of the Future Business Department at Yesco Holdings after entering LS C&S in 2003.

In the latest reshuffle, he was appointed to be CEO of Yesco Holdings in recognition for his exploring and nurturing future growth engines as well as ramping up each company¡¯s global competitiveness.

Senior Executive Vice President & CEO Koo Bon-gyu, a graduate of Sejong High School, earned an MBA from Purdue University in the United States.

He held positions such as deputy general manager with the communication business at SPSX, head of the automation Asia-Pacific business team at LS ELECTRIC, and LS Mtron COO after entering LS C&S. Koo, LS Mtron CEO appointed in the latest reshuffle, strives to achieve the company¡¯s turnaround.

Executive Vice President & CEO Chung Chang-si of Yesco was chief of the business division and head of the energy division with Yesco after entering Kukdong City Gas in 1985. He was appointed to be Yesco CEO for his contribution to ramping up business competitiveness by promoting customer services and safety in the city gas business.

LS Group plans a structural reorganization aimed to raise management efficiency among subsidiaries. LS ELECTRIC inaugurated a company in company (CIC) regime in October.

The company elevated the Electricity Business and the Plant Automation Business to a CIC entity with fast decision-making and independent accounting. The business group is also considering expanding the new/renewal energy and EV businesses.
