LG Uplus Vice Chairman Ha Hyun-hoe urged LG Uplus executives and staff members to nurture the telecom service provider¡¯s own loyal customer base, like Netflix¡¯s. Vice Chairman Ha delivered the demand at an executive workshop for the 4th quarter of the year at LG Uplus headquarters on Nov. 13.


¡°Amazon and Netflix have grown on the back of the power of their fandom despite the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,¡± Vice Chairman Ha said. ¡°Not only ICT companies but also toy maker Lego have come off with strategies to expand fan base with a focus on marketing and sales,¡± he added.


Amazon has adopted the paid customer loyalty program, Amazon Prime, encompassing online shopping, delivery services, prime video, music, games, reading, reading, photos, and other digital content.


As a result, the global retail company has secured more than 150 million loyal clients.


Netflix¡¯s original content strategies have paid off. Its paid subscription membership is predicted to surpass 200 million by year-end. The two companies have something in common: Offering services tailored to meet customers¡¯ needs through big data analytics and strengthening fandom despite the COVID-19 pandemic.


Vice Chairman Ha said the conventional approach cannot excite customers, and in order to secure loyal customers, he suggested using customer segmentation to offer services tailored to meet their needs, solving inconveniences customers experience and big data- and customer-oriented utilization.


LG Uplus has ramp up kids¡¯ services by releasing ¡°U+ Elementary School World¡± following ¡°Children¡¯s World.¡±


The telecom service provider has been focusing on segmenting services varying big data-based age groups like senior citizens, one-man households, and pet services.





LG Uplus has released ¡°U+ Elementary School World,¡± a home study service for elementary pupils, on Sept. 10.





LG Uplus plans to upgrade services tailored for customers and improve them by systematically facilitating feedbacks of inconveniences customers have complained next year.


Vice Chairman Ha praised LG Uplus logging the biggest growth rate among its competitors. He stressed a need to push customer-oriented strategies next year.


In particular, Vice Chairman Ha called for further making the business portfolio more solidly by reinventing the distribution structure in a perspective of customer¡¯s excitement, ways of working based on data and transforming customer experiences.


Fifteen executives participated in the workshop, and the event was televised live to all executives and officials in charge.
