Genesis BBQ celebrated its 25th anniversary on Sept. 1. The group held an anniversary event in which it pledged to fulfill the vision ¡°Again Great BBQ.¡±
Genesis BBQ Chairman Yoon Hong-geun said, ¡°Whenever a crisis happened during the past 25 years, we at Genesis BBG have achieved a higher growth quantitatively and qualitatively by transferring it into opportunities.¡±
¡°These experiences and knowhow have settled into Genesis BBG¡¯s intrinsic DNA, so we continue to maintain growth in despite of the rapidly changing economic and business environment in the post-COVID-19 era,¡± he said.
Yoon made the remarks while delivering his commemorative speech at an anniversary ceremony at Chicken University, the educational and research institute of Genesis BBQ.
Even though Genesis BBQ was faced with crises such as the 1997 Asian financial crisis, an avian flu, the 2007 financial crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic, Chairman Yoon reflected that the chain has overcome these by exploring new growth opportunities.
Explaining Genesis BBQ¡®s DNA to overcome crises, the chain said it had demonstrated leadership to tide over hardships by carrying out corporate social responsibilities such as the industry¡¯s first infecting its own outlets and membership outlets against the novel coronavirus and providing mask supplies to outlets and volunteers.

In particular, ¡°Hot Gold Olive Chicken,¡± which made its debut in April, has established itself as a steady hit product.
The chain launched BBQ Smart Kitchen, the world¡¯s top-tier new BBQ delivery concept designed to produce quality products through seasoned chefs and blameless kitchen.
The company has developed its own hand-brew beer and launched ¡°Nego Wang (King) Event,¡± a lottery contest with big prizes among clients.
BBQ¡¯s terrific success of achieving best-even business performances is owed to the chain¡¯s massive investments despite crises through proactive communication with customers and membership outlet companies.
Despite the start business situation caused by the spread of COVID-19, Genesis BBQ has achieved a terrific feat: seeing its membership surpass 1.9 million, the best-ever one in the shortest period by attracting attention from customers, particularly those in their 20s and 30s, and striking the 100th BSK contract.
