Lotte E&C has won the 350 billion won Start Lake Project to build a six-star hotel in Hanoi.

The project, ordered by Sunkyung E&C Group, calls for constructing two buildings with four basement floors and 40 floors above the ground. The upcoming edifice, which is 164 meters high and stands at a combined floor area of 215,099 sq. meters, will have a six-star hotel with 333 rooms, a serviced residence with 317 rooms, offices and stores.

 
The project is to be launched in October, and it will be completed in 40 months. Sunkyung E&C Group has a record of implementing Korea’s largest distribution center project. The edifice with a six-story sky bridge connecting an infinity pool on the tops of the two buildings is expected to emerge as a new landmark in Hanoi.

Lotte E&C has already dedicated the Lotte Center Hanoi in Vietnam. The contractor is now implementing the Lotte Mall Hanoi Project, a large-sized multi-purpose commercial facilities development project in Hanoi, and Lotte Eco Smart City Project in Ho Chi Minh City.

Besides, Lotte E&C has successfully completed the Kota Kasablanka Project Phase Two, a 43-story apartment edifice in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The contractor was awarded a project to build a new headquarters building for Sathapana Bank in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in 2018. It is the first time that Lotte E&C won a construction project in Cambodia.

The 19-story building with four basements that commands a floor area of 33,135 square meters is to be dedicated in August.

Lotte E&C is also accelerating efforts to expand its presence in the overseas residential housing development business. The contractor began to implement property development projects in earnest in 2018.

Lotte E&C are engaged in a few projects, including the FLC Premier Park Development Project, a project to build 870 apartment units and 870 villa and town house units in Hanoi, and the Garden City New East Phase II Project in Jakarta, a project to build 3,300 apartment units.

A Lotte E&C official said Lotte E&C landed the latest order via a nomination competitive bidding, and the contractor’s winning the project was attributable to Lotte E&C’s managing to satisfy the order’s needs by proposing diverse proposals such as pre-construction and value engineering.

Lotte E&C plans to aggressively land orders and implement development projects based on the standing of Lotte Group in Vietnam and the technology expertise and experiences the contractor accumulated in the construction of the Lotte World Tower, the highest skyscraper in Seoul.

Lotte E&C dedicated Lotte Center Hanoi, a 65-floor skyscraper, at 272 meters in height, in 2014, followed by the construction of the Lotte World Tower in Seoul, catapulting the Korean contractor to global stardom as one of Korea’s representative builders.

The Lotte World Tower had been a long-standing ambition pushed for by late Honorary Chairman Shin Kyuk-ho, said a Lotte E&C official, adding that it was kind of a “piece of artwork” crystallized with a combination of technologies Lotte E&C accumulated in diverse areas such as civil engineering, plant and house construction.

Lotte E&C is accelerating efforts to ramp up its capabilities to win orders in Korea and abroad by making the most of its sustainability management and differentiation core strengths.

The contractor has released its differentiation apartment brands, such as “Castle 3.0” and “Castle Smart,” by implementing reconstruction and redevelopment projects to reinvent an old housing environment.
