Samsung SDS has signed an agreement with ABL Life Insurance to perform its data center relocation and cloud migration.

ABL Life Insurance is the second oldest life insurance company in Korea. Backed by global financial expertise and a nationwide sales network, the company provides a wide variety of insurance products and professional financial services to over 1.15 million customers.

With this agreement, ABL Life Insurance¡¯s infrastructure will be relocated in Samsung SDS¡¯s data centers in Sangam and Chuncheon. For the next five years, fully integrated operation will be provided, driven by the latest technologies.

Moreover, Samsung SDS will provide cloud-based digital transformation consulting services for the life insurer. Cloud migration will revolve around ABL Life Insurance¡¯s customer service system.

Samsung SDS currently operates 18 data centers around the world and provides cloud services across a wide variety of industries, including electronics, manufacturing, finance and logistics.

Last September, Samsung SDS opened a data center powered by world-class cloud technology in Chuncheon. The data center boasts unparalleled scalability and operational efficiency through integration with existing infrastructure in its data centers in Suwon and Sangam.

30 Companies Introduce Brity Works, Process Automation Solution

Samsung SDS has a strategy of continuing growth for the next 100 years by creating services based on platforms and solutions, which emerge as key competitiveness factors in a digital era. One of the company¡¯s representative services is the Brity Works, the robotics process automation (RPA).

Brity Works is a conversational process automation solution, powered by AI to enhance work productivity. Brity Works performs simple, repetitive, non-productive work after understanding human orders.

Samsung SDS is applying Brity Works to its logistics business. Brity Works is responsible for repetitive, non-productive works while employees are allowed to focus on creative, core work.

The step has paid off: Work such as gathering cargo location information involving about 190 employees at 25 logistics centers across the nation has been reduced by 5,350 hours for six months.

Work errors have been deducted. Samsung SDS¡¯s employing Brity Works to 17,800 in-house has resulted in reducing 550,000 hours for nine months. Currently, 93 percent of the company¡¯s executives and staff members participates in work innovation via Brity Works.

¡°About 30 companies, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Suhyup Bank, have introduced Brity Works to automate works such as material and equipment analysis, response to customers and sales management,¡± Samsung SDS officials said.

The company plans to develop differentiation services down the road to continue growth, they said.
