The outside image of the all-new deluxe mid-size sedan G80 Genesis was revealed for the first time before its release. The new stand-alone luxury premium brand Genesis model was revealed to the world on March 5.
G80 made its debut together with the launch of the luxury premium band Genesis in 2015. The all-new G80 has been reborn as a third-generation model, following the G1 model in 2009 and G2 one in 2013.
G80, the name of the model, is a combination of alphabet G, a symbol of Genesis, and 80, meaning a bigger size.
It is the first time that G80 has undergone a full-change renewal since the launch of the stand-alone brand Genesis. The image of the all-new G80 shows off the Genesis design identity¡¯s ¡°Athletic Elegance.¡±
Executive Vice President Lee Sang-yup, head of Genesis Design Center, said that Quadlamps are part of Genesis¡¯ representative features to demonstrate its unique design identity. Genesis design DNA is going to feature its own luxury, he added.
The all-new G80 has realized an optimal profile for a rear-wheel drive, luxury sedan. In particular, enough double-line head room is available even if the roofline represents a coup-like shape.
The front¡¯s Crest Grille, and the two lines of the Quadlamps circumventing all sides of the vehicle, have established themselves as Genesis¡¯ signature design elements, which were first employed by GV80, which was released this year, and also in place in the All-new G80.
Luc Donckerwolke, CDO Executive Vice President at Hyundai Motor Group, said Genesis¡¯ design elements are reflected in the logo, the first impression of the brand, and the crest at center of the logo and the wings of both sides symbolize the Crest Grille and Quadlamps, respectively.
The side presents a long sweeping Parabolic Line from front to rear flowing gently downwards, provoking the elegance of classic cars. The sharp athletic power lines of the front and rear fenders stressing the powerful stance of the 20-inch wheels.
