Popular actress Hyeri endorses Noscana Gel.

Noscana Gel, a pimple scar treatment released by Dong-A Pharmaceutical, saw sales top 10 billion won in the whole of last year, the company said on Jan. 13.

Noscana Gel made its debut as an over-the-counter drug in 2013 and has since proven to be efficacious in treating pimple scars, operation scars, hypertrophic scars and keloid scars. The drug saw sales jump more than six times in 2017.

It posted about 1 billion won in sales in 2014, for context. Noscana Gel made it on the circle of the blockbuster OTC drugs, each posting 10 billion won in annual sales in 2019.

In 2013, Dong-A Pharmaceutical sold Noscana Gel as a high-concentration scar treatment drug. The drug maker changed the positioning of the drug as a pimple scar drug and concentrated on marketing.

This strategy has paid off: creating a new drug category off the shelves of drugstores, leading to a rise in sales. Marketing blitzkriegs to present Hyeri, once serving as a member of the Korean girl group Girl’s Day, on TV ads, YouTube and SNS media outlets earned 10 billion won in sales last year.

More than 90 percent of all people used to suffer from pimple scars once in their life, and the good business performance of the drug is owed to the meeting of consumers’ demands for pimple scar therapies, Dong-A Pharmaceutical said.

Dong-A Pharmaceutical Releases Orthomol Immun for Immune System

Dong-A Pharmaceutical launched Orthomol Immun, a German-made premium vitamin product, designed to promote the dietary management of nutrition-related immune deficiencies.

The premium vitamin was released on Lotte Home Shopping’s Choi Yoo-ra’s Show that was broadcasted at 8:40 p.m. on Jan. 9.

Orthomol Immun is produced by Orthomol, a German company specializing in 30 years of producing and marketing health and dietary management foods. Orthomol Immun is known as a premier vitamin product in Germany.

Orthomol Immun contains diverse micronutrients for the immune system and connective issues such as Vitamins C, A, B, E, and K as wells and minerals such as zinc, Selenium, and folic acid.

The product, coming in both liquid and tablet formats, is advised to take it twice daily. Each box carries 30 tablets for a one-month dose.

Dong-A Pharmaceutical sold three boxes of Orthomol Immun with a three-month dose for 255,000 won for a free one-day dose through Lotte Home Shopping’s Choi Yoo-ra’s Show.
