Samsung Electronics finally unveiled its strategic Samsung Galaxy S20 series. According to the past naming rule, the Galaxy S series that will be released this year should have been named the Galaxy S11.

The name was changed to the Galaxy S20 to coincide with the last two digits of the release year in order to differentiate it from its previous series. The new models apply 5G and AI technologies.

Samsung Electronics debuted the Galaxy S20 at the Samsung Galaxy Unpack 2020 event in San Francisco Palace of Fine Art on Feb. 11.

The Galaxy S20 series will arrive in three models – the Galaxy S20 Ultra loaded with state-of-the-art technology including a 108-megapixel camera and a 6.9-inch display, the Galaxy 20+ that features a 64-megapixel camera, as well as a 6.7-inch display and the Galaxy S20 that came out with a 64-megapixel camera and a 6.2-inch display.

All the three models support 5G mobile telecommunications, the latest 5G standard for faster network access and higher data rates.

In addition, the Galaxy S20 series combines the most powerful image sensor with artificial intelligence (AI), empowering users to take detailed photos in any environment.

In particular, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has four camera lenses arranged in a rectangular module. Even if you shoot at 10x zoom with a folded lens, the photo will not have reduced quality.

It supports the “Space Zoom” function, which can shoot a photo after magnifying it up to 100 times based on AI.

The Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Plus have a 3x optical zoom lens and a 30x digital zoom lens, respectively.

With 5G, the Galaxy S20 enhances the video chatting experience through a deep integration with Google Duo, bringing new Duo features first to the Galaxy S20 series.

The Galaxy S20 series takes mobile gaming to the next level. With a 120Hz display, users will be able to experience incredibly smooth gaming.

Later this spring, Microsoft, a Samsung partner, will launch its popular Forza Street in the Galaxy Store, marking the first time the game is coming to mobile.

The most secure device Samsung has ever made, the Galaxy S20 series is protected by Knox, an industry-leading mobile security platform that protects the device from the chip level through to the software level.

The Galaxy S20 also features a new secure processor which protects against hardware-based attacks. In addition, Samsung partnered with YouTube to empower Galaxy S20 series users to upload 8K videos directly to YouTube from their devices.

Powered by a big, intelligent battery, the Galaxy S20 series comes with a 25W fast charger, while the Galaxy S20 Ultra supports 45W Super Fast charging as well.

But such big improvements have led to a hike in the new models’ prices. The Galaxy S20 5G is a 128GB model. It will come in cosmic gray, cloud blue, cloud white and cloud pink, and retail at 1,248,500 won.

The Galaxy S20 Plus and the Galaxy S20 Ultra will be available as 256GB models. The Galaxy S20 Plus will be released in cosmic grey, cloud blue, cloud white, aura red and aura blue.

It will be priced at 1,353,000 won. The Galaxy S20 Ultra will wear cosmic gray or cosmic black and be sold at 1,595,000 won.

As for the previous series, the Galaxy S10 series, the Galaxy S10e was priced at 899.800 won, the Galaxy S10 at 1,056,000 won, and the S10 Plus at 1,155,000 won.

The S10 5G retailed for 1.97 million won. The Galaxy S20' series will hit the shelves around the world beginning on March 6.
