One hundred university students selected across the nation every year conduct diverse volunteer activities in Korea and abroad for eight months.

Beyond is a key program of an initiative of becoming and making exemplary global citizens, one of the six representative projects, announced by POSCO at a meeting of sharing performances with corporate citizens last December.

One hundred and twenty students - 100 members of the 13th class of POSCO Beyond and 20 members of Indonesia Beyond - were involved in the activities in Indonesia.

The POSCO Beyond members engaged in construction activities at five village schools near PT. KRAKATAU-POSCO in Indonesia.

They rebuilt a library in danger of collapsing and installed sinks and other facilities so that local students can study in a safe, clean environment.

It was noteworthy that the volunteering team participated in a process of putting the finishing touches to the POSCO Steel Village project of building a school, which was launched in 2018.

Twenty executives and staff members of KRAKATAU-POSCO also joined in the construction volunteering activities.

Thee volunteering team itself planned an educational program on global citizenship, designed to help Indonesian youth pay more attention to the pending social issues as environment and energy recycling, and taught Indonesian students.
