Korea Post’s online shopping mall is offering major deals worth up to 40 percent off on specialty items across the nation between Jan. 2 and Jan. 19 in the run-up to the Lunar New Year’s Day, which falls on Jan. 25.

About 2,000 items, including popular products such as fruit sets, dried persimmon sets, fisheries sets and hangwa (Korean traditional sweets and cookies), are being sold at discounted prices.

Korea Post Shopping is offering diverse benefits so customers can buy items at lower prices during the promotion period in the run-up to the holiday.

Members are being given a discount coupon worth between 1,000 won and 2,000 won, and winners of a yuk nori (traditional Korean board game) event, being held on a daily basis, will receive an additional discount coupon of 1,000 won or 3,000 won.

Discount coupon events, involving eight provinces, are taking place in cooperation with public entities such as Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp. (aT) and local autonomous bodies such as Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Customers who buy from Korea Post shopping mall the items recommended by the entities and local bodies are given additional discounts.

A lottery to present gifts such as a vacuum cleaner, fruit sets, mini-humidifiers, and post shopping mall discounts will take place among post shopping mall customers.
