Lotte Corp. has contributed 7 billion won in a fund to love neighbors to the Social Welfare Community Chest of Korea (CCK).
Lotte Corp. Vice Chairman & CEO Hwang Kak-kyu, Oh Sung-yeop of the Communications Office at Lotte Corp., and CCK Chairman Ye Jong-seok participated in a ceremony to deliver the fund at CCK’s hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, on Dec. 24.
Lotte Corp. unveiled the social contribution brand ‘mom편한’ (mom feeling at home). Lotte Corp. is carrying out diverse social contribution activities to address low birth, a big social conundrum the nation badly needs to cope with.
The fund will be expected to be used mainly to projects to realize the “world of mom feeling at home” such as ones designed to improve the infant care environment and protect children’ welfare rights.
Meanwhile, Lotte has been staging diverse social contribution activities on the occasion of year-end and New Year. Lotte delivered 2.5 billion won in the “2019 Bell Ringing Ceremony” to prepare charity pots for the Salvation Army held at the Gwanghwamun Plaza in downtown Seoul on Nov. 29.

The company held a ceremony to celebrate the surpassing the number of boxes prepared and delivered under the “Lotte Pleasure Box campaign at Lotte Central Research Institute in Magok, Seoul, on Dec. 5. On the day, volunteers as well as Lotte executives and staff joined forces in 2,330 “Lotte Pleasure” boxes.
They have brought to 51,761 the number of “Lotte Pleasure” Boxes that had been prepared and delivered so far since 2013 when the campaign was launched. About 2,300 volunteers, including Lotte College Supporters U-Friends members, Lotte executives and staffers have so far participated in the campaign.
The Lotte Pleasure Box Campaign has establishet itself as one of the group’s representative social contribution activities.
Under the drive, volunteers have prepared and delivered boxes carrying necessities for underprivileged neighbors — children of poor households, the elderly living lonely, youth without parents and the visually handicapped.
