Finalist 14 gardens of the 2019 Garden Design Contest and gardens produced by certified civilian gardeners were on display at exhibition

A garden exhibition, hosted by Korea Expressway Corp. (KEC) at KEC Jeonju Arboretum from Sept. 20 to Sept. 28, took place under the theme ¡°Road & Garden, Good Enough.¡± The finalist 14 gardens of the 2019 Garden Design Contest and gardeners produced by certified civilian gardens were on display at the exhibition. The exhibits will continued to be displayed to allow more spectators to enjoy at the arboretum until the 2020 Exhibition is to be held.
The 2019 exhibition had side events such as a busking performance, a bubble show, a students¡¯ drawing contest, and a gardening experience event between parents and their children, and other diverse events. Spectators were given the chance to not only enjoy excitement, but also bring healing from the natural environment of the arboretum.
KEC President Lee Kang-rae said, ¡°I hope a garden entry, presented under the theme ¡°Rest,¡± will give a relaxing time from the fatigue of our daily life and it also serve as an opportunity to learn values of rest and co-existence.¡± He also expressed hope the Garden Exhibition, a combination of beautiful arboretum landscape and diverse cultural events, would bring good memories to families.
ROTREX 2019
The International Road & Traffic Expo (ROTREX 2019), Korea¡¯s sole road and traffic fair, was held at the first exhibition center of KINTEX in Goyang, north of Seoul, from Sept. 25 to Sept. 27.
More than 120 exhibitors participated in ROTREX 2019. The latest exhibition coincided with diverse seminars, an export negotiation session, and other events designed to help exhibitors present latest products and new technolgoeis. ROTREX, which made its debut in 2005, is an annual exhibition.
ROTREX has established itself as the nation¡¯s biggest venue of networking and exchanges in the road and traffic field.
ROTREX 2019 also coincided with the 5th Korea Safety Expo and the Korea Climate and Meteorological Industry Exhibition 2019 (KCMIE 2019).
KEC Strikes MOU on Padma Bridge with BBA
Korea Expressway Corp. signed an MOU on the operation and maintenance of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge with Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA).
Under the deal, the two companies will launch negotiations based on a project proposal to be presented by KEC soon.
If KEC wins the project, the corporation will be charged with overall operation and maintenance of the Padma Bridge, such as toll collection, road and structure repair, and patrol and disaster management. The value of the project, to be conducted in next 10 years, will be an estimated 100 billion won.
The Padma Bridge, measuring 6.15 km in total length, will be the largest special bridge in Bangladesh. The two-level steel truss bridge will have a four-lane highway on the upper deck and a single track railway on a lower deck.
Construction work of the long-cherished bridge started in 2014, and it is Bangladesh¡¯s biggest civil engineering project worth 3 trillion won. KEC will play as a leading company offering consulting services with a 23.9 percent stake in the project.
