Seoul Tourism Organization, BTS to show off key tourist spots in and around Seoul

BTS¡¯ 2018 single ¡°Fake Love¡± peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This made it their most successful song in the chart to date. At the moment, it¡¯s got over 473 million views on YouTube.


Seoul Tourism Organization will run the videos of Seoul to introduce the famous tourist spots in the history-laden capital city of Korea whose history stretches back for six centuries, along with the videos of BTS musical troupe, who became a global sensation as they performed their unique songs and dances around the world, creating economic and cultural syndromes.


The Organization is scheduled to run the videos of BTS performances to drum up tourism around Seoul including 7 programs of the troupe and 1 integrated video in conjunction with the city¡¯s tourism program under the title of Visit Seoul. They will be shown on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram from Sept. 13.






BTS has been named Honorary Tourism Ambassadors for Seoul City three years ago and they have been fulfilling their mission for the past three years. In 2017, they kicked off their mission with BTS¡¯ Life in Seoul with music videos and tourism ads and With Seoul music videos. In the following year in 2018, they again showed the video of ¡°My Seoul Playlist.¡±


The slogan for the publicity videos, ¡°Live Seoul Like I Do,¡± in continuity of their past performances. If the campaign messages so far had a message ¡°Live in Seoul I Like I Do,¡± the message for this year is ¡°Live in Seoul Like I Do, You, Too,¡± and ¡°Create and Share,¡± a little advanced from the past.


The videos will have the voices of the travelers talking about experiences for viewing their enviable performances to create a joint sensitivity with the potential foreign tourists overseas to create a friendly and attractive images for Seoul.


¡°Create and Share¡± campaign is a unique in its initiation and done with the ¡°my own style¡± to not only draw up a tour program, but also make contents out of them to reflect the sharing the global tour trends and experience the unique Seoul¡¯s attractiveness and expand them widely.


Seoul¡¯s tourism videos have been made after analyzing the tourists tastes and interests and detailed needs of the ticket holders who are interested in the contents related to Seoul. They are made of 7 themes—scenic nature-old but new-recharge-getaway-local life-exciting moments-city break.





Scenic Nature: A number of famous places in Seoul like Namsan Tower, Ducksu Palace, and the Han River are to be introduced.


Old but New: For foreign tourists, Korea¡¯s traditional arts like calligraphy, traditional costumes, and Pansori will be introduced.


Recharge: A number of places where people can recharge their energies including saunas, the plant gardens, and the Han River tubesters will be introduced.


Getaway: A number of places for entertainment for foreign tourists including the recording room for K-Pop songs and music, the Han River Water Sports, VR Techno Park, and the Singing Rooms will be introduced.


Local Life: Exotic places where foreign tourists might want to experience truly Korea including the Namdaemun


Traditional Market for shopping, Chinese medical clinics, special bookstores, cartoon stores where they serve ramen and school uniform stores, among others.


Exciting Moments: The introduction of places where large crowds gather to watch the events like the baseball parks, water cannon festivals, and the roller coasters and other exciting places in Seoul.


City Break: The introduction of a number of eateries where indigenous native Korean foods are served and where foreign tourists who want to truly experience Korea might want to visit. Those interested are directed to visit Seoul City¡¯s official Youtue channel (
