College students and other job-seekers participate in a culture & art program, sponsored by GS Caltex, to take time out to heal their tired minds and bodies and give mentoring.
GS Caltex has chosen its manpower as the most important source of organizational competitiveness. To this end, the refinery company offers full support for staff members¡¯ growth ranging from employment to improving of job performances.
GS Caltex has minimized factors ranging from paper applications and interviews in order to select manpower based on performance. In presenting paper applications, applicants¡¯ grades in scholastic achievements were deleted from common qualification standards, while guidelines for foreign language records were also abolished in 2016. The steps may be construed as the company¡¯s focus on whether applicants are armed with fundamental requirements to succeed in their job.
The refinery company has expanded an internship program, which made its debut in the departments of natural sciences and engineering in 2015, to also include humanities courses. GS Caltex has strengthened the verifying of duty performances. One of the projects each department will implement each year will be assigned during the internship period and be evaluated.
GS Caltex has been cultivating manpower through systematic career development and educational programs. Freshmen employees undergo a four-week orientation program.
The program comprises mangers¡¯ special lectures and CEO¡¯s meetings to facilitate communication between seniors and juniors. Each freshmen employee is put to each job after undergoing a on-the-job training program in the field for more than two months.
GS Caltex¡¯s education program consists of job competency education, each strata leadership education, coaching/mentoring, and gifted manpower development. In particular, job competency education course deals with not only common job competency, but also each business¡¯ specialized job competency segments in a systematic fashion.
