The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) implements a project to build ¡°smart MICE¡± based on international conference and other multi-purpose zone to ramp up the competitiveness of its meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry with a focus on the Sondo ConventiA, using ICT infrastructure.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) launched the fourth year project to build ¡°smart MICE¡± based on international conference and other multi-purpose zones to ramp up the competitiveness of its meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry.
The IFEZ held a session to report on the fourth year project on smart MICE and shared information on the project and discussed pending issues with operation organizations such as Incheon Tourism Organization (ITO) at the G-Tower in Songdo International City, Incheon, on March 25.
In particular, the smart MICE project, designed by a regional development committee, was initiated in 2015 to build differentiation services and reinvigorate the regional MICE industry with a focus on the Sondo ConventiA, using ICT infrastructure. The project is to be wrapped up this year.
The IFEZ Authority plans to build IoT, AI-enabled customer analysis solutions and GREEN Songdo Conventia smart MICE Center to reinvigorate the MICE service industry with ITO via the fourth year project on top of the provision of differentiation services through the upgrading and improving of conventional services. It plans to do its best to enhance the competitiveness of the MICE industry in the Incheon area by realizing convergence of the ICT-based MICE industry, accommodation, shopping, tourism, and other related industries.
Until now, the first to third year project has been focusing on the building of infrastructure buildup and platforms and spreading of services, so an interactive integrated portal that can have convenient access to diverse gadgets such PCs and mobile devices and handle expanded management of e-Government frame has been established.
Visitors to the Songdon ConventiA are also given the chance to receive diverse information by installing large-sized multi-vision and VR experience zones, offering free WiFi zone services and introducing outdoor displays.
Director Suh Yoon-ki in charge of publicity and culture at the IFEZ said if the 4th year smart MICE project is wrapped up, differentiation services will be offered and the competitiveness of the MICE industry of the IFEZ will be enhanced. The IFEZ will devote itself to the successful implementing of the project and thorough post-project management, he added.
