Amorepacific Museum of Art¡¯s (APMA) special exhibition ¡°APMA, CHAPTER ONE¡± gets under way through May 19. The exhibition, which opened on Feb. 14, is the first such one since the opening of the museum at AmorePacific headquarters in Yongsan, Seoul.


This special exhibition of collections is an exhibition that focuses on contemporary artwork collections possessed by APMA.


Art aficionados are given the chance to appreciate about 40 artworks that showcase diverse trends of modern art.


The exhibitions on display range from diverse genres such as paintings, photos, sculptures, and media art. The exhibition space consists of eight exhibition rooms, including ones on the first floor of AmorePacific headquarters and at the entrance lobby of KAMA. Each exhibition room has a different ambience corresponding to the character and environment of the collection genre


In particular, among the exhibitions on display are Love, a pop art image by American artist Robert Indiana, which is the same edition of the one installed at 55th Avenue, New York,¡±: ¡°Secret Share¡¯ by Lee Bul, one of Korea¡¯s most internationally recognized artists, which makes its debut in a Korean museum,: and ¡°Una Lumino¡± by artist Choe U-ram.


Hyun Moon-pil, head of the department of art and science at APMA said, ¡°The exhibition is composed with a focus on large-sized paintings, photos, sculptures, and installation artworks that have so far been undisclosed among APMA¡¯s art collections, which covers the past and the present as well as the Orient and the West.


The exhibition will serve as an opportunity to experience new perspectives and works of contemporary art at one place. Hyun added.
