The group steps up support to spread Hallyu around the world and farm and fishery SMEs to explore overseas market for their products

CJ Group has been hard at work making contributions to the country and the people by holding global cultural events and others to spread Hallyu and to help farm and fishery SMEs explore new markets for their products, both at home and overseas, under its mutual Survival Campaign.
CJ Cheiljedang, a key affiliate of the group, has been operating the Food Safety Mutual Survival Association, the first non-profit organization in the country since 2014 providing the guidance and lessons on food safety for some 20,000 SME food business firms with many of them minimal number of employees, 20 in total for most of them including key officials. The company has been known to be the first in the country to hold such events to provide education on food safety to the SMEs.
CJ E&M¡¯s E&M sector has been holding such events as KCon and MAMA, and other global cultural events for SMEs to support their overseas advancement. They sought out SMEs who want to operate overseas in cooperation with the organizations dealing with SMEs such as Kotra, the Large and SME Agricultural and Fishery Cooperation Foundation, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
They hosted 12 global cultural events in key cities around the world, with some 46 SMEs on average participating in those events. They were able to export some 19.6 billion won worth of products overseas, including the export contracts signed at the events or after the events.
CJ E&M¡¯s O Shopping Sector has been broadcasting its program to explore the market for farm produce for farm households from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on a daily basis free of charge. They started broadcasting the ¡°One Town and One Famous Brand,¡± from 2007 to help the farm households around the country to sell their farm produce free of charge. From 2012, they also put on the air the ¡°One Company, One Product,¡± this time to help SMEs to sell their products and so far they broadcast the program for over 1,000 hours.
They also started broadcasting the programs all over the world from Shanghai, China, thru the Global Homeshopping Network set up in the Chinese city in 2004, to support SMEs to find markets to put into practice its mutual survival strategy.
