POSCO has begun ¡°Corporate Citizen Love Letter Season 2¡± in which ideas will be explored to tackle social issues such as low birth rate and youth unemployment.
Corporate Citizen Love Letter Season 2 that was launched on March 4 is an updated version of the previous ¡°Love Letter¡± to strengthen interactive communications and aggressively sound out ideas to address social issues.
The previous version served as a messenger to convey recommendations delivered to POSCO via anonymous bulletin board and email messages. The updated version guarantees anonymity, but allows a change in content and it to be made public if you would. Writers will receive via emails information on the current progress on proposals they post and improvement outcomes and confirm in person them in the My Page.
Improvement outcomes will be made public inside and outside in a newly created reply bulletin board, and the headlines of posted messages will be shared on the open bulletin board by consent of writers.
The previous lover letter focused on exploring reform tasks while the Corporate Citizen Lover Letter targets a major goal of exploring a variety of views and ideas that can realize POSCO¡¯s vision ¡°With POSCO,¡± corporate citizen developing together – fresh ideas to tackle social issues such as low birth rate and youth unemployment.
POSCO Chairman Choi Jeong-woo had sounded out ideas from inside and outside toward the establishment of future reform tasks through the lover letter for about three months since last July when he took office. A combined 3,300 views had been accepted. Chairman Choi, marking 100 days in office, announced 100 reform tasks last November.
True to its management vision ¡°Corporate Citizen Developing Together¡± based on views over the previous lover letter, POSCO immediately put into practice POSCO¡¯s cooperate companies¡¯ sharing of retreat facilities, owned by the group, and the overhauling of cooperative company staffers¡¯ vehicle entry into steelworks and working conditions.
Chairman Choi said POSCO will devote itself to fulfill its responsibility and role as a corporate citizen by aggressively participating in tacking social issues on a voluntary basis through the newly revamped Corporate Lover Letter and further strengthen communications with the general public.
