Samsung Electronics introduces remote access, enabling user control over peripheral connected devices through TV at CES 2019

Samsung Electronics unveiled remote access at the CES 2019 in Las Vegas in January, enabling user control over peripheral connected devices through its smart TVs.
Remote access offers enhanced wireless connectivity with PCs, tablets, and smartphones, allowing consumers to remotely control programs and apps through Samsung Smart TVs.
Remote access allows input devices, including keyboards, to be connected to a Samsung Smart TV, making it easier for users to control their on-screen content.
For instance, users can remotely access a PC in their room through the TV in their living room to execute various tasks, including web surfing and playing games form their TV screen without a separate HDMI cable connection. Remote access also offer cloud office functions to perform document work through a TV.
Furthermore, Samsung Electronics provides virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions in cooperation with VMware Horizon, a leading innovator in enterprise software. Virtual desk create each user¡¯s virtual computer environment in cloud instead of computers. Users can work by connecting allotted cloud PC via their own devices regardless location. Consumers can use Samsung Smart TV, outfitted with remote access, as if they are PCs anywhere in the world. In particular, the functions will be a boon to countries with lower TV use rates.
In the meantime, Samsung has integrated its proprietary Knox security technology into its remote access features to address security concerns surrounding wireless connectivity and cloud services.
Samsung Electronics Vice Chmn. Lee Tours 5G Telecom Network Equipment Production Line
Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jay-yong inspected a 5G telecom network equipment production line on Jan. 3. It was the first inspection tour since the New Year dawned.
Vice Chairman Lee has focused on the nurturing of new growth engines. His visit may be construed as his expression of strong willingness to take the lead in an era of 5G on top of AI, bio and automotive electronics parts businesses.
Lee attended a ceremony to launch the operation of a 5G telecom network equipment production line in Suwon. He stressed the nurturing of competitiveness in the newly unfurling 5G market with a challenging spirit.

Samsung Electronics¡¯ 50th Anniversary
Samsung Electronics held a ceremony to launch the 2019 business year at Samsung Digital City in Suwon, south of Seoul, on Jan. 2 with about 500 executives and staffers in attendance. The participants included Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Kim Ki-nam, President Kim Hyun-seok and President Koh Dong-jin.
In his New Year¡¯s message, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Kim said, ¡°The year 2019 is a significant year in which Samsung Electronics celebrates the 50th anniversary of its establishment.¡± As a decade ago, Samsung Electronics overcome a crisis and rose to a global IT company, he said, calling for employees to pave the way for Samsung to become ¡°a super company lasting 100 years.¡±
To this end, he said, Samsung Electronics has to aggressively nurture new growth businesses with next-generation products and innovative technologies, and build sustainable growth foundation in the future through a corporate culture in which constructive failures can be encouraged and aggressive challenges and investments into new technologies.
