Hyosung Group Chairman Cho Hyun-joon said in his congratulatory speech on the group¡¯s 52nd anniversary that Hyosung¡¯s DNA utilizes technology as a foundation for growth. He said the time has come to pursue new challenges with such a successful history as a base.
The chairman said he would like to thank those who sacrificed themselves for the group¡¯s success, in particular, those who spent many years working for the group.
The chairman said Hyosung cannot always be optimistic about what the future holds for the group, with the operational environment becoming so virulent.
¡°We cannot afford to be comfortable with present environment surrounding the group if we are to make the group continue to prosper for a hundred years with its global competitive power it has now,¡± he said. ¡°We cannot sit idle mired in the past frame while our customers and rivals continue to change as it means a critical set back.
¡°We ought to take our steps to welcome fresh new changes ahead to reform ourselves,¡± he urged, adding that the customers are in the center of the reform.
He said Hyosung cannot survive if it does not listen to the Voice of Customers (VOC) to examine itself.
¡°We should find out the hidden needs or our customers through deep consideration for the customers and steadfast communication and make moves to satisfy them preemptively. We will find out the changes in the market and cope with them fast to adjust with the changes,¡± he said.
Hyosung thought about VOC only in the customer service sector, he said, but it should be utilized across all areas of Hyosung¡¯s operation, the chairman said.
¡°From now on, we should make it the base for everything we do for the group as it should be the standard for all decisions in the entire operation of our group, so that it will take a deep root in our corporate culture,¡± the chairman said.
If past half century were a time for growth of Hyosung¡¯s capability and vision, tomorrow will be the time for us to move up as a leader to provide an affluent life to human beings as a first-class business group.
¡°I wish Hyosung will become a top business group that cares for its customers to everyone¡¯s mind whenever its name is uttered,¡± Chairman Cho Hyun-joon said. ¡°With that as the base, let¡¯s make Hyosung a centennial enterprise we dream of.¡±
The 52nd anniversary celebration was an occasion to look back at Hyosung Group¡¯s half century of history and also the group¡¯s new challenges to boost its position as a leading conglomerate in Korea and around the world.
Chairman Cho Hyun-joon thanked the officers and employees for their devotion to the group¡¯s development, urging them to work for the group¡¯s new challenges ahead to be a leading global conglomerate taking advantage of the DNA that got the group where it is today.
The chairman said the operational environment for the future of the group is dark at best, but they should be able to find the power to wade through the difficulties ahead is found in the Voice of Customers (VOC).
¡°We ought to find out what the customers want before they even say as we can hear the customers voices as they check and see how we are doing all the time,¡± the chairman said. At the ceremony, awards were presented for commemorations for 566 executive and staff including the 162 at the head office and 404 in the local areas and overseas, who worked for between 10 and 30 years.
Among them were Director Lee Tae-keun, who got an award for the longest service for the group, extending over 30 years.
