Korea East-West Power Co. (EWP) has established the new vision ¡°2030 Eco-friendly Energy Company Making the World Affluent¡± and has built up a new management regime corresponding to the initiative.
EWP has recognized the necessity of coping with a global trend of an energy paradigm shift from conventional energies to eco-friendly ones.
EWP is determined to spearhead efforts to comply with the government¡¯s policies in order to rise to an eco-friendly energy company and realize social values. To this end, EWP has set three management tenets – EWP full of hope, EWP spearheading innovation, and EWP translating into action and established strategy regimes.
The power company aims to ramp competitiveness of its sustainable power generation business and secure eco-friendly future growth engines.
As part of efforts to put these strategies into practice and nurture future leaders, EWP has established four steps to strengthen new capabilities. EWP has become the first power company to inaugurate an office responsible for the implementation of state tasks and establish a regime of three headquarters.
EWP has established a roadmap, dubbed ¡°New & Renewable 3025¡± calling for raising the portion of new and renewable power generation to 25 percent by 2030. The power company plans to build new and renewal energy business foundations such as floating, offshore wind power, expand operation solutions suiting the energy storage systems (ESS), and strengthen follow-up new energy businesses.
EWP is stepping up quality management activities to upgrade its quality management system. The power company has selected ¡°quality management experts¡± who have a deep insight into equipment and quality among employees subject to a wage peak system.
The step is designed to utilize core technologies and knowhow employees with a career of more than 30 years have accumulated. EWP is the first Korean power company to introduce a system of nurturing quality management experts.
EWP¡¯s nine teams won the presidential prize in the national quality management circle completion at the 44th National Quality Management Convention held at COEX on Nov. 28. The power company made it on it onto the list of Excellent Quality Competitive Enterprises for nine years in a row.
