LS Group opened ¡°the Age of Yongsan¡± from the week of Nov. 11, with a number of key affiliates moving into the new LS Yongsan Tower in Yongsan Ward, Seoul, including LS Networks and System.

They moved from the group¡¯s Asem Tower in jp, southern Seoul. Other key affiliates of the group - E1 Holding for the Energy Business Sector and Yesco Holdings for the group¡¯s City Gas Business - also moved into the new headquarters.

Other affiliates including LS Nikko Copper Refining Seoul Office and LS Metal are scheduled to move into the tower by January 201,9 with LS Cable and System deciding to set up a temporary ¡°Smart Office¡± in the Yongsan Tower for its officers and staff who have to travel to Seoul from Anyang.

A number of key leaders of the group led by Chairman Christopher Koo of LS Group, and heads of the key affiliates such as Chairman Koo Ja-hong of LS Nikko Copper Refining and Chairman Koo Ja-cheol of Yesco Holdings - all members of the owner family of the conglomerate - will move into their offices in the tower after the affiliates complete their relocation.

The group and its affiliates will take up 8 floors of the 28-floor building from the 14th to 21st floors and they expect the creation of a huge synergy with all of the important offices of the group and its affiliates settling down into their new offices in the tower. Kukje Group had owned the building, which was built in 1984, but E1 took possession of the building when it acquired the group in 2006.

LSIS participated in CIGRE 2018 held in Paris, France, from August 27-31 along with international leaders of the industry. Using a total of 6 exhibition booths, LSIS introduced its newest line of key development in ESS (Energy Storage System), PCS (Power Conditioning System), and FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission System).

Making its first appearance in the European market, the new ESS lineup, as the core technology of renewable energy trends sweeping across the globe, has garnered attention.

LSIS's Modular Scalable PCS, a customizable, mid to large scale PCS for ESS, is independently developed by LSIS utilizing the company's own power conditioning technologies and the world-class production capacity that produces energy efficient power electronic devices such as industrial inverters.

The newest model has a capacity for the smart stand-alone operation enabled by PEBB (Power Electronic Building Block) for ESS modularized at 125 to 158kW, and with maximized parallel connection up to 16 devices - the largest in Korea - offering significantly improved scalability, stability, and efficiency.

'Modular Scalable PCS' from LSIS allows parallel connections of modularized PEBBs that results in scalability up to ten times from basic 250kW to 2.5MW, accompanied by smart stand-alone operation system based on LSIS's own smart ESS operation system that minimizes the duration of shut-down in cases of PEBB malfunction.

As one of the experts in HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) industry in Korea, LSIS demonstrated its technological prowess by introducing the ¡°FACTS: Flexible AC Transmission System¡± in which it the power loss problem known to AC transmission connection is corrected by applying the power conversion technology that is fundamental to HVDC.

LSIS has completed development of the 1st generation FACTS technology such as SVC (675Mkvar SVC) and other core technologies related to STATCOM (300Mvar STATCOM), demonstrating its market competitiveness for Korean and international market.
