An evaluation of KEPCO KPS¡¯s O&M project into the Ambatovy Thermal Power Plant in Madagascar showed that the project earned 99.5 points in categories such as plant operation rate, efficiency and safety accident rate related to operation and maintenance.
KEPCO KPS was awarded the O&M project for one year between Sept. 1, 2017 and Aug. 31, 2018. KEPCO KPS received an additional $270,000 in performance incentive from the project owner on top of the contract money.
KEPCO KPS has been recognized as a global O&M company. It was given an incentive of about $70,000 from FPCDL of Pakistan for achieving 99.15 percent in the operation rate of the Daharki Combined Power Plant in Pakistan in August. The figure is rarely seen in Korea.
In 2011, KEPCO KPS ranked 1st in the operation rate of the Vemagiri Combined Power Plant in India among all power facilities in the Asian country for the second consecutive year.
On the back of its remarkable overseas track record, KEPCO KPS is striving to expand its business presence in countries such as Pakistan and Indonesia through the exportation of excellent homegrown maintenance technologies, a KEPCO KPS official said.
In particular, differing from its operation in Korea, KEPCO KPS is offering total services, including operation and maintenance of power facilities, and the company is implementing 12 overseas projects, including nuclear and thermal power plants.
