Hanwha L&C President Kim Chang-bum is one of the advocates of shared growth, which is emerging as an issue between large-sized conglomerates and their SME business partners over how to achieve simultaneous growth.
President Kim said, ¡°True to our group¡¯s spiritual cause of ¡®Together, Further,¡¯ we¡¯ve put forward our fullest efforts to provide support to our cooperative partners by enhancing their competitive edge.¡±
He stressed that recognizing Hanwha L&C¡¯s cooperative companies as group-wide companies and business partners, not just subcontractors, should be a basic principle for shared growth.
Kim has been devoting himself to fixing the complaints and problems that one or two cooperative companies across the nation suffer when he visits monthly.
He has introduced diverse shared growth programs such as the provision of technology and market information on each SME¡¯s development of products and an on-line educational program on nurturing manpower from cooperative firms. In particular, Hanwha L&C has taken the lead in providing financial support to its cooperative companies that are financially strapped through mutual cooperative funds on top of cash payments for products and services and front-loading emergency funds.
The Hanwha L&C president believes in shared growth toward co-prosperity. ¡°SMEs should have a technological edge to promote shared growth with large companies, so our staff members endeavor to provide as much technological support to our cooperative SMEs as possible.¡±
Hanwha L&C is working towards co-existence and co-prosperity with its cooperative SMEs beyond their conventional business deals. Youjin Tecor, a company with which Hanwha has co-prosperity programs in place, is exemplary.
Hanwha L&C production and sales personnel came to the aid of Youjin Tecor, which had its plant and dormitory flooded by downpours last July. They volunteered to give a hand in helping its cooperative company repair the flood damage.
Hanwha L&C has provided assistance such as educating personnel to Youjin Tecor. Such shared growth efforts have paid off: the company specializing in the coating of furniture has maintained 100 percent growth in each of the past three years.
