KEPCO KPS has seen remarkable achievements in its successful operation and maintenance abroad.

An evaluation of KEPCO KPS’s O&M project into the Ambatovy Thermal Power Plant in Madagascar showed that the project earned 99.5 points in categories such as plant operation rate, efficiency and safety accident rate related to operation and maintenance.

KEPCO KPS was awarded the O&M project for one year between Sept. 1, 2017 and Aug. 31, 2018. KEPCO KPS received an additional $270,000 in performance incentive from the project owner on top of the contract money.

KEPCO KPS has been recognized as a global O&M company. It was given an incentive of about $70,000 from FPCDL of Pakistan for achieving 99.15 percent in the operation rate of the Daharki Combined Power Plant in Pakistan in August. The figure is rarely seen in Korea.

In 2011, KEPCO KPS ranked 1st in the operation rate of the Vemagiri Combined Power Plant in India among all power facilities in the Asian country for the second consecutive year. On the back of its remarkable overseas track record, KEPCO KPS is striving to expand its business presence in countries such as Pakistan and Indonesia through the exportation of excellent homegrown maintenance technologies, a KEPCO KPS official said.

In particular, differing from its operation in Korea, KEPCO KPS is offering total services, including operation and maintenance of power facilities, and the company is implementing 12 overseas projects, including nuclear and thermal power plants.

한전KPS, 해외사업서 연이은 운전‧정비기술 우수성과 창출

해외 발전소 운영평가서 높은 점수 얻어 27만USD 인센티브 받아

한전 자회사로 국내 발전설비 정비 전문회사인 한전KPS(사장 김범년)가 최근 해외 발전소 운전 및 정비를 통해 높은 가동률을 달성하며 고객가치 실현 등 우수한 성과를 창출한 것으로 밝혀졌다.

한전KPS는 최근 마다가스카르 암바토비 화력발전소에서 지난 1년간(2017.9.1~2018.8.31) 발전소 가동률과 효율, 발전소 운전 및 정비원의 안전사고율 등에 대한 평가에서 99.5점을 획득하며 발주처로부터 계약금과는 별도로 최대 인센티브(30만USD)에 가까운 27만USD의 성과 인센티브 지급 약정서를 받았다고 밝혔다.

한전KPS는 지난 8월에도 파키스탄 다하키 복합 화력발전소 운영을 통해 국내에서도 달성하기 힘든 높은 가동률인 99.15%를 달성해 발주처인 파키스탄 FPCDL사로부터 약 7만USD의 인센티브를 지급받은 바 있는 글로벌 발전설비 운영과 정비전문 기업으로 도약했다.

또한, 한전KPS는 지난 2011년부터 인도 베마기리 복합 화력발전소에서 인도 내 모든 형태의 발전소 가운데 가동률 1위를 2년 연속 달성하기도 했다. 한전KPS 관계자는 “해외 프로젝트에서 괄목할 만한 성과들을 거두고 있는 만큼 향후 국내의 우수한 정비기술 수출을 통해 파키스탄, 인도네시아 등 신규 해외사업을 지속적으로 확장할 계획”이라고 말했다.

한편, 한전KPS는 해외에서 국내와 달리 발전설비 운전 및 정비를 포함하는 토털 서비스를 제공하고 있으며, 원자력 및 화력 등 12개의 해외 프로젝트를 운영하고 있다.
