More than 300 exhibitors showcased the latest advanced technologies at the Korea Energy Show 2018 that took place at the KINTEX exhibition center in Goyang, north of Seoul from Oct. 2 to 5.
The Korea Energy Show 2018, the nation¡¯s largest energy expo, was the 38th rendition. A combined 303 companies demonstrated energy shift, job creation and public participation.
Unlike the previous exhibitions with a focus on corporate presence, the Korea Energy Show 2018 serve as an opportunity for the general public to enjoy hands-on experiences, the Korea Energy Agency said.
In his opening session speech, Vice Minister Cheong Seung-il of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) stressed global energy paradigm shift and innovation of the energy industry.
The government is pushing ahead with the optimization of the whole energy mix covering all energy sources, departing from power mix in the supply sector while encouraging innovation of energy consumption structure of each sector such as industry, building and transportation, he said.

The Korea Energy Show 2018 was held under the theme ¡°Clean, Safe Energy, Efficient Energy Consumption, Korea¡¯s Energy Innovation.¡± Fifteen exhibition halls were set up during the exhibition, which also coincided with 46 seminars, forums and other educational programs as well as 15 publicly participatory and hands-on experience events.
Visitors at the ¡°Special Pavilion on New & Renewable 3020¡± were given a chance to take a glance at the director of energy paradigm shift and outcomes. Exhibitors at the New & Renewable Energy Pavilion, including Hanwha Q Cells, Hyundai Green Energy, Doosan Fuel Cell and Global Wind Energy featured diverse new and renewable energy products and technologies, including energy storage systems, photovoltaic power, fuel cell and wind power.
