Birth Place of Late Aju Founder Now Serves as Cultural Center for Neighborhood Children

A house in Yongdu-dong, Seoul, where the late founder Moon Tae-shik of Aju Group was born and raised, has established itself as an educational space in the neighborhood area.
The house, which marked the first anniversary since its opening on Aug. 1, is run by the nonprofit organization, Aju Welfare Foundation. ,In celebration of the first anniversary, the foundation offers diverse programs at the house, dubbed as ¡°Very Good Dreaming Place.¡±
Visitors stand at a whooping 4,000 as programs tailored to meet the needs of underprivileged children and local residents have been offered, including educational programs on achieving one¡¯s dreams and higher schooling guidance.
Aju Group plans to host anniversary events to remind people of the significance of the establishment of the group in the local community. The group is going to hold an event to provide gifts to new members, who joined in August, posted photos with the place in the background. It also plans to hold other events, including the sending of commemorative cakes and messages.
Special programs targeting children and youth using are being offered in August.
They include a commentator-guided educational program on the ecosystem of Cheonggaecheon Stream, guided by commentators with Seoul Facilities Corp., a journey into our neighborhood cultural properties and future heritage, a character doll-making class, and athletic classes. Most of the programs are hands-on experiences designed to teach a sense of achievements and dignity.
Aju Group plans to appoint executives and staff members of the group¡¯s subsidiaries as ¡°dream supporters¡± responsible for nurturing dreams of children and youth. The selected people are given a chance to donate their talents and allow children and youth students to participate in diverse experience programs with a challenging spirit.
Secretary General Noh Mi-ra of Aju Welfare Foundation said his foundation will showcase diverse programs that can allow children and youth to foster dreams and hope and help them grow up in a healthy manner.
