Chairman Lee Sang-jin of the Korean Standards Association (KSA) said the KSA will spearhead efforts to reflect Korean standards in smart cities, IoT, big data and other sectors of the 4th Industrial Revolution.


KSA Chairman Lee made the remarks while delivering an opening speech at the 64th Summer CEO Forum hosted by the KSA at the Jeju Lotte Hotel from July 25 to July 28. About 500 CEOs and other representatives of member companies of the KSA and their families attended the annual forum held under the theme, ¡°Imaging the Future Again.¡±


The KSA is devoting itself to leading in a competition to control global standards related to the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution. In particular, the association is demonstrating diverse solutions to technologies, services, quality techniques, management knowhow and changing standards so that Korean companies can employ them in the field.


Chairman Lee said, ¡°A global competition to secure standards in accordance with the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution is expected to get fierce, and (we will) lead in standardization institution efforts to reflect Korean standards in the sectors of the 4th Industrial Revolution, including smart cities, IoT and big data, which are to be highlighted down the road.¡±


The participating CEOs took time out to look into how to cope with changes each field will undergo and how to secure new growth engines under diverse themes of communications, health, issues, sympathy and economic policies.
Starting with an opening speech made by KSA Chairman Lee, Vice Chairman Kim Kwang-doo of the National Economic Advisory Council delivered a key-note speech under the theme ¡°Will Korea Have an Industrial Competitive Edge.¡±


Speakers of the July 26 session included CEO Pyo Hyun-myung of Lotte Rental, who spoke on the theme ¡°The 4th Industrial Revolution and Future Mobility¡± and President Kang Sung-wook of GE Korea, who lectured on the topic ¡°Advanced Innovation for the 4th Industrial Revolution.¡±


Among the speakers of the July 27 session were Prof. Yoo Hyun-joon, who spoke about the topic ¡°Where We Live¡± and Prof. Ha Ji-hyun of Konkook University, who lectured on the theme ¡°The Power of Mind to Protect Me in an Era of Uncertainties,¡± and Chairman Jin Dae-je of the Korea Blockchain Association, who discussed ¡°the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Blockchain.¡±
