The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority’s (GFEZA) Hadong Office convened a monthly meeting of the Hadong District Consultative Committee designed to attract investments into the Hadong District.
Investment professionals were in attendance at the Korea Ship and Offshore Research Institute at the Galsaman Shipbuilding Industrial Complex on July 26.
About 20 people from the Gyeongsangnam-do provincial government, Hadong County Office, Gyeongnam TechnoPark, including researchers with the Korea Ship and Offshore Research Institute, participated in the meeting. The participants shared information on the current status of attracting investments until now and discussed ways of spurring investment attraction.
The Hadong District Consultative Committee, established in September 2017, has convened a monthly meeting designed to develop an industrial complex within Hadong District through communications among the Gyeongsangnam-do provincial government, Hadong County and GFEZA’s Hadong Office, build infrastructure and spur investment attraction.
The participants of the consultative committee expanded to include such related institutions such as the Gyeongnam TechnoPark in accordance with a proposal to recommend the establishment of a task force involving investment attraction professionals with diverse institutions, which was made during an investment attraction discussion convened by GFEZ Commissioner Kim Kap-sup on June 5.
Um Jong-pil, head of the Ship and Offshore Energy Center at the Gyeongsangnam-do Technopark, introduced the current situation of the ship and offshore marine industry and major R&D projects the central and Gyeongsangnam-do provincial governments are implementing. He also suggested new central and provincial governments’ industry policies such as incentives to attract corporate investments. It was the first time that a representative of the Gyeongsangnam-do Techno Park has attended a monthly meeting of the expanded consultative committee.
Huh Nam-yoon, head of GFEZA’s Hadong Office, said “Our office is taking diverse steps, including the ones to diversify investment business categories and focus on attracting SME parts and material companies to spur the selling of plots at an industrial complex in Hadong District and we’ devoting ourselves to promoting organic cooperation with related organizations attracting investments to Handong District.”
GFEZA Convenes Workshop to Lure Investments to Sepoong Industrial Complex
GFEZA gathered all staff members’ to discuss ways of attracting investments into the foreign investment area of the Sepoong Industrial Complex at The Ocean Resort in Yeosu on July 20.
GFEZA designated the 82,641 square meter foreign investment area of the Sepoong Industrial Complex last December. The Convergence Materials Verification Support Center was dedicated in June as part of efforts to lure attractions.
All staffs from the Jeollanam-do provincial government, provincial research institutes and GFEZA assembled for the workshop to have heart-felt discussions to invigorate investments to the industrial complex.

하동지구 투자유치 활성화를 위한 GFEZ 하동지구 활성화 점검 협의회 개최
- 투자유치 상황에 대한 공유와 활성화를 위한 여러 가지 방안을 논의
광양만권경제자유구역청(GFEZ) 하동사무소에서는 지난 7월 26일에 갈사만조선산업단지 내 선박해양플랜트기술연구원에서 투자유치 전문가를 초빙하여 ‘하동지구 투자유치 활성화 점검 협의회’ 를 개최하였다.
경남도, 하동군을 비롯한 경남테크노파크 및 선박해양플랜트 연구원 관계자 20여 명이 참석한 가운데 개최된 협의회에서는 지금까지의 투자유치 상황에 대한 공유와 활성화를 위한 여러 가지 방안을 논의하였다.
‘하동지구 투자유치 활성화 점검 협의회’는 하동지구 관계기관인 경남도 - 하동군 - GFEZ 하동사무소간 소통과 협치를 통한 지구 내 산업단지 개발, 기반시설 조성, 투자유치 활성화를 위하여 지난 2017년 9월에 구성되어 지금까지 매월 운영되어 왔다.
지난 6월 5일 김갑섭 광양만권경제자유구역청장 주재 하에 개최된 ‘투자유치 활성화 토론회’에서 다양한 기관의 투자분야 전문가가 참여하는 T/F팀 구성이 제안됨에 따라 기 운영 중인 ‘협의회’의 참여기관을 경남테크노파크 등 유관기관으로 확대‧편성하였다.
이번 회의는 ‘하동지구 투자유치 활성화 점검 협의회’가 확대 개편된 이후 처음 개최된 것으로 회의에 참석한 경남테크노파크 엄정필 조선해양에너지센터장은 조선해양산업의 동향과 경남도가 역점적으로 추진하고 있는 R&D분야 사업에 대하여 소개하며 정부 및 경남도의 신사업정책 참여도 기업유인책이 될 수 있다는 의견을 냈다.
허남윤 광양만권경제자유구역청 하동사무소장은 “우리 사무소에서는 하동지구 산업단지의 분양 촉진을 위해 유치업종의 다변화와 중소부품소재기업을 중점적으로 유치하는 등 다각도로 추진 중에 있으며 하동군 등 관계 기관과의 유기적인 협력과 적극적인 투자유치 활동을 통해 하동지구의 투자유치 활성화를 이루어 내도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
광양경제청, 세풍산단 투자유치활성화 방안 모색을 위한 전 직원 워크숍 개최
광양만권경제자유구역청(청장 김갑섭, 이하 광양청)은 7. 20.(금) 여수 디오션리조트에서 전 직원이 참여하는 워크숍을 개최하였다.
광양청은 세풍산단 외국인투자지역(82,641㎡)을 작년 11월에 지정하였고, 융복합소재실증화지원센터를 지난 6월에 준공하는 등 기업유치에 만전을 기하고 있으며, 전 직원이 기업유치 방안을 모색 하는 등 총력을 다하고 있다.
이번 워크숍에는 전남도청, 도 출연기관, 광양청의 전 직원이 한자리에 모여 광양만권경제자유구역이 나아가야할 길을 허심탄회하게 논의했다는 점에서 의의가 크다고 하겠다.
주요내용으로 전남도 홍양현 투자기획팀장의 “전남도 투자유치 현황” 발표를 시작으로 김종갑 전략산업과장이 “R&D사업 발굴 추진”, 이건섭 에너지산업과장이 “미래먹거리 에너지신산업 육성전략”을 주재로 발표하였고, 전남TP 이정관 기업육성실장이 “기업지원 사업 현황”, 전남생물산업진흥원 곽원재 생물의약연구센터장이 “전남 바이오 의약산업 육성”을 주재로 발표하였다. 이어서 광양청 간부 직원들의 발표 및 참석자 간 자유토론 형식으로 이루어졌다.
워크숍 참가 직원은 “직원 간 열띤 토론 및 업무추진에 필요한 정보공유를 통해 직원들의 투자유치 역량을 강화하여 투자유치 프로젝트 추진 가능성을 높이는 효과가 있었다”라고 기대감을 보였다.
김갑섭 청장은 “투자유치는 이 지역의 새로운 일자리 창출로 직결되는 만큼 전 직원이 투자유치 전문가가 될 수 있도록 이번 워크숍에서 발표된 자료 및 제안ㆍ발굴 아이디어를 최대한 활용하여 투자유치 성과목표를 달성하자”고 당부했다.
