CJ Group has tapped Senior Executive Vice President Huh Min-hoe of CJ O Shopping as overall CEO in charge of the newly integrated CJ E&M, the group’s media and commerce unit.
On June 27, the business group made the reshuffle of some subsidiaries, appointing the overall CEO of CJ E&M, the new entity, to be launched in July after combining CJ E&M and CJ O Shopping. Huh will serve as overall CEO of CJ E&M and head of the E&M business. Senior Executive Vice President & CEO Huh Min-ho of Olive Young Business at Olive Networks has been appointed to head the O Shopping business at the new CJ E&M.
New CJ E&M President Huh served as president in charge of overall management at CJ Corp. and CEO of CJ Foodville, and CEOP of CJ Olive Network. He had worked as CEO of CJ O Shopping since May 2016. Huh was recognized for having the right stuff to have some insight into businesses and structural operation capabilities since he had diverse stints at the group’s major businesses.
Huh Min-hoe, new CEO of O Shopping business at the new CJ E&M, headed CJ Olive Young since 2008. He had been credited for his contribution to settling the new distribution platform concept, “health & beauty store.” He has superb insight into trend-setting on- and off-sales and new lifestyles. Senior Executive Vice President CJ Foodville CEO Koo Chang-geun has been transferred to CEO of Olive Young business at CJ Olive Network, replacing CEO Huh Min-ho. Chung Sung-pil, head of the domestic business division at CH CGV was appointed to be the new CEO of CJ Foodville.
Senior Executive Vice President Lee Kyung-bae, CEO of the IT business at CJ Olive Networks, has been retained.
New CEO Koo of Olive Young business at CJ Olive Network served such positions as head of the Planning Team and head of the first Strategy Office at CJ Corp. before he was appointed to be CEO of CJ Foodville in July 2017. New CJ Foodvill CEO Chung served as CFO of CJ Hello Vision and CJ CGV, and he also had a field stint as head of the domestic business division at CJ CGV since March 2017.
