GKL President Yoo presides over a first management innovation meeting of chiefs of offices, shops and teams from GKL headquarters and there business outlets on June 25.

President Yoo Tae-yeol of Korea’s casino operator Grand Korea Leisure said he will devote himself to enhancing competiveness by securing new growth engines while instilling vitality to the moribund organization. He made the remarks while delivering his inaugural speech as he took office at the GKL Academy on June 15.
“I will improve the working conditions suiting the situation of the field so that all staffers can work hard and feel a sense of reward and pride, lend an ear to their grievances and complaints and reflect on them,” President Yoo said.
Yoo promised to devote himself to gaining trust not only from shareholders and customers but also from the people by strengthening transparent, fair, and ethical management as well as responsible management.
Following his inauguration ceremony, President Yoo held a ceremony to sign an agreement on co-prosperity between labor and management with GKL labor union chief Chun Jin-soo in which both sides agreed on a declaration to commit to ensuring balanced labor-management development, integrating corporate culture, fulfilling social responsibility as a public entity.
President Yoo, a graduate of the 27th class of senior police cadets, held such positions as chief of the information management division at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, presidential secretary in charge of public order, head of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency, and chief of the Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency.

Under the stewardship of President Yoo, GKL has entered into management innovation mode.
He presided over the first meeting of chiefs of offices, shops and teams from GKL headquarters and their business outlets, including executives at GKL headquarters on June 25. He urged them to work with a more innovative mindset.
The management innovation meeting was designed to analyze problems stemming from the evaluation of the business performances of public entities for the year 2017 and explore measures to improve them in order to be reborn as a public enterprise trusted by the people.
President Yoo expounded the four management steps for innovation — strengthening efforts to realize social values and social volunteer activities; committing to ensuring transparent, honest, ethical management and responsibility management; reorganization to efficiently cope with management evaluations & holding each unit body’s management innovating meetings and sharing outcomes among all staffers; and inaugurating an communication management office to ramp up external and internal communication with a focus on strengthened communication with field staffers. President Yoo called for faster innovation.
GKL, a subsidiary of Korea Tourism Organization that operates the Seven Luck casino, a foreigner-exclusive casino, is a public enterprise established for the following purposes to attract more foreign tourists to enhance the international competitiveness of the Korean casino industry and to use the revenue generated from casino operations to invest in building tourism-related infrastructures and public projects.

그랜드코리아레저(GKL)는 유태열(兪泰烈) 사장의 취임식을 GKL아카데미 대강의실에서 6월 15일 가졌다고 밝혔다.

유 사장은 취임사에서 “신 성장 동력을 확보하는 등 경쟁력 제고를 견인해 나가는 한편, 정체되어 있는 조직에 활력을 불어 넣겠다” 면서 “직원 모두가 열심히 일하고 보람과 긍지를 느낄 수 있도록 현장 상황에 맞게 근무환경을 개선하고 직원들의 애로 사항을 청취해 반영하겠다”고 약속했다. 또 “투명하고 공정한 윤리경영과 책임경영을 강화해, 주주와 고객은 물론 국민의 신뢰를 얻는데 더욱 힘쓰겠다”고 다짐했다.

이어 전진수 GKL노조위원장과 노사 상생 협약식을 갖고 노사 균형발전과 조직문화 통합, 공기업의 사회적 책무 이행을 약속하는 ‘노사 한마음 선언문’을 공동 선포했다.
유 사장은 경찰간부 27기 출신으로 경기지방경찰청 제3부장(경무관), 시울지방경찰청 정보관리부장, 대통령비서실 치안비서관(치안감), 인천지방경찰청장, 대전자방경찰청장 등을 역임했다.

이번 경영혁신회의는 2017년도 공기업 경영실적 평가에 따른 문제점 분석과 향후 개선 방안을 도출하여 올해를 ‘제로베이스’로 삼아 국민의 신뢰를 받는 공기업으로 거듭나기 위해 마련됐다

유태열 사장은 경영혁신을 위한 초석으로서 -공기업으로서의 사회적 가치실현 및 사회공헌 활동 강화 -투명하고 청렴한 윤리 경영과 책임경영 -경영평가에 효과적으로 대응 가능한 조직 개편과 경영혁신회의의 단위 조직별 확산 개최 및 결과에 대한 전 직원 공유 -대내외 소통 강화를 위한 ‘가칭’ 소통관리실을 신설, 특히 현장 직원과의 소통 강화 등 4가지를 다짐했다.

아울러 유태열 사장은 참석자들을 향해 “이대로 가다가는 제자리에 머물 수도 있다는 생각에 조바심마저 드는 게 사실이다. 혁신의 속도를 내어주길 바란다”며, “내 휴대전화는 항상 열려 있으니 언제라도 조직의 발전을 위해 여러분들의 기탄없는 의견을 문자로 보내달라”며 유태열 식 소통경영의 첫 행보를 시작했다.
