The Incheon Int¡¯l Airport Corp.(IIAC) is out to create around 50,000 new jobs, although the company already won a reputation for turning the most irregular workers to regular status in the country.
The airport authority will try to create new jobs through a four-stage airport expansion project, which is targeted for completion in 2022, and the number of new jobs is equal to the entire number of employees currently on the payroll at the international airport, meaning that the number of airport employees will be doubled by 2022.
The airport announced its plan to boost the number of employees on May 20, boasting that the number of workers will eventually be around 110,000.
The airport will open the Work Place Integrated Platform in September to list the information on all the jobs open at some 900 firms that will be available from airline offices, logistics firms, commercial facilities, airport and supplier firms to name some. The plan includes come 1,200 more people for the airport authority itself.
Up until now, each company hired its own employees on its own with little information on new hiring and other personnel matters accessible in one place to job seekers. But the Work Place Integrated Platform will list all the information on personnel matters of the airport at one hub. The airport authority will also operate the Work Place Meeting Center, an offline personnel information platform, for the convenience of both the companies and the job seekers.
The four-stage airport expansion project, which is scheduled for completion in 2022 at the cost of 4.2 trillion won, is expected to create 50,000 new jobs at the airport. The project involves the expansion of the two airport terminals and building four new runways. The airport authority figures such facilities as new golf courses and resorts would require some 19,000 new employees to build them, around 10,000 new employees at logistics facilities, and 18,000 people to build new infrastructure at the airport.
