Galaxy S3 Joins List of 20-Mln Sellers 100 Days After Its Debut
Translates into selling an average of 200,000 units per day

Samsung Electronics¡¯latest smartphone, the Galaxy S3, has surpassed the 20 million mark in the number of units sold globally 100 days after making its global debut on May 29. It means that an average of 200,000 Galaxy S3 units have been sold on a daily basis. 
Galaxy S3 joined the list of  ¡°10 million sellers¡± 50 days after its release. 
Galaxy S3¡¯s surpassing the 20 million mark in 100 days is three times faster than Galaxy S2, which saw its cumulative number of units sold shatter the 20 million mark in nine months.
The 20 million units include 6 million units in Europe, 4.5 million units in Asia, 4 million units in North America, and 2.5 million units in Korea, indicating an even regional distribution of sales in the global smartphone market. In particular, sales have picked up in such regions as North America, Europe, and China of late.  
The impressive performance of the Galaxy S3 has turned out to be the driving force behind Samsung Electronics¡¯maintaining the No. 1 position in the global mobile and smartphone market.

Samsung Electronics officials said the Galaxy S3 is superb in its human-oriented user interface, technology, and design with a 4.8-inch high-definition Super AMOLED display.
In particular, the Galaxy S3 boasts such innovative features as the ¡°Smart Stay,¡± recognizing human faces and eyes for not turning off the screen as long as you look at it,; ¡°Direct call¡± for making direct calls to message senders by touching it to one¡¯s ear; and ¡°Smart alert¡± for informing the user of calls or messages during his or her absence by vibrating.
