New KEPCO KDN President Park Sung-chul took office as the 12th president in a ceremony at the headquarters in Naju, Jeollanam-do, on Feb. 13.
In his inaugural speech, President Park said, ¡°KEPCO KDN will secure related core technologies to nimbly brace for the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution and expand convergence projects combining new and renewal energies and ICT.¡±
KEPCO KDN, a public entity committed to carrying out roles and responsibilities, will make all-out efforts to spearhead realization of social values by creating jobs, convert temporary workers into regular employees, care for the socially underprivileged and promote development of the local community and shared growth with SMEs, he said.
President Park urged his KEPCO KDN executives and staff members to behave corresponding to public entity values executives and eradicate authoritarian views, breaking down formalities and creating a sound corporate culture with smooth communications.
Park has been with the Korean power industry for 33 years as a seasoned expert. He has held such positions as the head of Seongnam branch, the chief of the New Growth Engine Division, and the head of the Business Division at KEPCO.
