Daesang Corp. hosted the ¡°2017 GWP Award Win-Win Exhibition¡± at the El Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, on Nov. 16. The event was designed to give words of encouragement and thanks to about 300 invited people, including officials from Daesang and its cooperative business partners for their dedicated efforts to promote quality management and present awards to exemplary companies.
The awards ceremony also coincided with an exhibition in which Daesang¡¯s cooperative company partners participated to promote exchanges and mutual trust.
In a speech, Daesang Corp. President Chung Hong-eon said he extended thanks for their concerted efforts despite an unfavorable business environment, influenced by the weak economy. He called for Daesang and its cooperative partners to leap forward together. Daesang executives of CEOs of previous award winning companies received the 2017 GWP Awards at the awards ceremony. 2017 GWP Awards were held in the ¡°shared growth¡± category raw material, package, and OEM and in the ¡°excellent cooperative company¡± category new technology development, quality management, and unit price improvement. New awards in the creating shared value (CSV) category and collaboration categories were added to the 2017 GWP Awards.
Daesamg received an excellent grade for the third consecutive year in recognition of conducting diverse ¡°shared growth¡± activities and sharing ¡°win-win strategies¡± with its cooperative business partners, despite the long-standing harsh business environment of the food industry. Daesang has gained recognition for its efforts to promote ¡°win-win management¡± with its cooperative business partners.

Daesang Hosts 38th Blue Dragon Awards
The 38th Blue Dragon Awards ceremony took place at the Hall of Peace of Kyung Hee University, Seoul, on Nov. 25. All 38 Blue Dragon Awards have been sponsored by Daesang Corp. and Daesang Holdings. It is one of the nation¡¯s renowned film festivals.
Emceed by actor Kim Hae-soo and actress Lee Sun-kyun, the 2017 Blue Dragon Award for Best Film went to ¡°A Taxi Driver,¡± directed by Jang Hoon. In particular, the crime action drama ¡°The Merciless, 2016¡± received nominations in nine categories, including best film, followed by eight nominations each for crime dramas ¡°The King¡± and ¡°A Taxi Driver.¡±
Actor Song Kang-ho, the hero of ¡°A Taxi Driver,¡± was honored with the 2017 Blue Dragon Award for Best Actor.
A seasoned actress Na Moon-hee, the heroine of the drama ¡°I Can Speak,¡± walked away with the 2017 Blue Dragon Award for Best Actress. Actress Na became the oldest Blue Dragon Award winner, boosting the morale of young actresses.
Do Kyung-soo, who played in the drama ¡°Brother¡± won the 2017 Blue Dragon Award for Best New Actor, while Choi Seo-hee, who played the role of Humiko in the drama ¡°Anarchist from the Colony,¡± was presented with the 2017 Blue Dragon Award for Best New Actor.
The 2017 Blue Dragon Award for Best Supporting Actor went to actor Jin Sun-kyu, who played in the move ¡°Outlaws, 2017.¡± Actor Jin, who burst into tears after hearing his name, extended his thanks with humorous comments, which earned some laughs from the audience. Actress Kim So-jin won the 2017 Blue Dragon Award for Best Supporting Actress for her part as a woman prosecutor in the drama ¡°The King.¡±
Daesang President & CEO Lim Jung-bae said it was an honor to present awards at the festival, particularly alongside actress Koh Doo-sim. The 38th Blue Dragon Awards ceremony was broadcast live on the SBS-TV.
