Hyundai Motor Co. assembled the heads of dealerships around the world in Seoul on May 13 for a rally to boost sales in the global market.

The event, held every two years, promotes relationships between dealers and marketing employees with the aim of ramping up the company’s competitive edge and unveil new strategies to strengthen the global auto market. The rally, with the slogans “Past 50 Years and Future” and “Surprising Accompanied Trip” was held with Vice Chairman Chung Ui-sun and other executives who met and mingled with some 300 CEOs of dealerships around the world for the intensive two-day event. On the opening day of the meeting at the Seoul Grand Inter-Continental Hotel on May 10, the opening speech was followed by presentations of awards to the dealerships that boosted sales despite tough market conditions.

In his welcoming speech, Vice Chairman Chung Ui-sun said the company’s new car models will help them increase sales, as the automobiles have been made with new technologies with customers’ preferences in mind. Factors such as environmental changes and demand were taken into account so that Hyundai will be able to lead the global auto market, along with the dealerships.

On the second day of the event, they discussed the future of the auto company. They took up each sector of the auto firm’s operation to discuss its strategy regarding new models. Goals were strengthening commodities and the development of online facilities. They also discussed ways to boost customer satisfaction and investment in future car technologies, including “connected” cars.

In detail, the new strategies they drew up involved a strengthened lineup of SUVs, along with the strategies to produce a new small SUV, KONA, and to boost customer satisfaction for G70, a compact luxury sedan of the Genesis.

The heads of the dealers were invited to join in on discussion to find the means to design an improved version of those models.

They toured Hyundai Motor Studio in Seoul. Later, they went to Jeju Island to go on test drives of the new Ionic model. They also experienced Korean traditional cultural events by watching traditional dance performances and songs presented during their dinners. Organizer wanted to give them a good reason to look forward to visiting Korea again.
