Dongwon Industries Co., the mother company of the Dongwon Group, which launched its deep-sea fishing business as its main concern back in 1969, won the 2012 Customer Satisfaction Management Grand Award.

Since its founding, the company set up a deep-sea fleet in 1979 to catch salmon and in 1982 the company began turning out canned salmon, which it marketed both at home and abroad.

The company has been creating synergy among its business sectors including distribution and logistics, which they took up later as its core business sectors.

The company’s fishing fleet is made of 46 deep-sea fishing vessels, the largest such fleet in the world, making Korea the biggest fishing country in the world. The company has logistics centers in 16 locations in Korea equipped with the latest logistics facilities and equipment and is a leading company in the third party logistics low temperature market to the extent that the company won the $200 million Export Tower, boosting Korea’s national prestige around the world.

Dongwon’s logistics sector, LOEX, set up a Korea-Japan joint venture in 1997 in the 3 PL sector called Lesco, a first for a Korean logistics firm.

In 2006 the company won the first certificate as an integrated logistics company, and in 2010 the company won the AAA rating in the area of customer service, proving its reputation as an outstanding 3PL expert firm both at home and abroad.

The company has been doing its utmost to provide the best services to its customers from the 16 logistics centers it operates with 1,200 delivery trucks hauling goods to its 20,000 dealers.
