Hyundai Mobis, celebrating the 40th anniversary of its founding this year, is now ranked among the top six automotive parts makers in the world. Since Hyundai Mobis entered the automotive parts business in 2000 in earnest, the company made strides in quantitative growth thanks to the growth of the national economy, a far cry from the present in which completion is fiercer than ever.

Hyundai Mobis does not rest on its past successes. The company is focusing on innovation to brace for the future. To this end, Hyundai Mobis set as its management tenet ¡°the strengthening of global competitiveness through responsible management.¡±

The company plans to devote itself to securing future core technologies.

Hyundai Mobis executives and staff members share a company-wide awareness of the necessity to secure a leading competitive edge to cope with rapid changes. In this regard, the company has set as the foremost management values: swift decision-making, investments ahead of its rivals, the developing of added value products, and the strengthening of profitability of mainstay products.

In particular, the company is prioritizing ramping up merchandize competitiveness in driving assistance systems (DAS), self-driving technologies, ¡°infortainment,¡± and those in the eco-friendly sector. It¡¯s also focusing on core automotive parts such as brakes, lighting and lamps, securing its own proprietary technologies and strengthening quality management.

Hyundai Mobis is accelerating efforts to develop advanced DAS technologies, a precondition for the development of self-driving cars. The company, which has managed to upgrade advanced DAS technologies to the standards of global automotive parts makers, is expected to secure a competitive edge in the development of self-driving car technologies.

Hyundai Mobis has developed and mass produced such DAS technologies as the advanced smart cruise control (ASCC), lane departure warning system (LDWS)/ lane keeping assistance system (LKAS),and blind spot detection (BSD).

Hyundai Mobis aims to land orders from foreign global automakers this year. The company supplies about 20 items to 24 global client companies, except Hyndai Motor and Kia Motors. Hyundai Mobis showed off such advanced future car technologies as self-driving cars and hydrogen fuel cell cars during the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas in January. The company is striving to expand its global business boundary. Hyundai Mobis is soon to dedicate such research and production infrastructure as a driving test range in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do, a module production plant in Chongqing, China, and a lamp production plant in the Czech Republic. In particular, the company is building the Seosang driving test range into a test-bed for certifying self-driving car technologies.

Hyundai Mobis Demonstrates Technology at CES 2017 in Las Vegas

Hyundai Mobis unveiled advanced automotive parts related to smart cars and self-driving vehicles at the global consumer electronics and consumer technology tradeshow CES 2017 in Las Vegas from Jan. 5 through Jan. 8. The Korean automotive parts maker appeared at the CES 2017 for the second year in row. It was designed not only to demonstrate its capabilities as a top-six automotive parts supply maker, but also to seek orders from global automakers.

The CES, held in Las Vegas every January, is widely known as the world¡¯s largest global consumer electronics technology tradeshow. An increasing number of global automakers and automotive parts makers have been participating in the tradeshow since 2010, when automobiles began to embrace the ICT technologies in earnest. About 100 automobile-related companies, about the same as the North American International Auto Show, participated in the CES 2017.

Hyundai Mobis expanded the exhibition size 7 percent over last year to 278 sq. meters at the CES 2017. The company¡¯s pavilion was divided into a smart car zone, a green car zone and a parts zone.

Spectators at the smart car zone were given an opportunity to experience safety technologies and technologies related to the convenience and health through a self-driving simulator with a real driver¡¯s seat. The cluster of the simulator, outfitted with a 23.4-inch curved display, informs of emergency situations in real time.
