No wonder Hyundai Mobis is one of the top global automotive parts makers in the world.
Hyundai Mobis has a global network of 28 production centers in such places as China, the Americas, Europe and Asia, 24 logistics centers and five technology research institutes with a combined employment of 25,000 people.
Making the most of the globalization strategies, Hyundai Mobis develops and produces core automotive parts tailored to meet regional demand. The company aims to rise to a global top tier automotive parts maker by strengthening marketing activities to attract local automakers.
Hyundai Mobis steered its overseas operations to conform to the Just in Sequence (JIS) strategy, a departure from the conventional one as a subsidiary of Hyundai Automotive Group.
JIS refers to an advanced strategy of delivering automotive parts in time to meet the schedules of automakers by sharing the production situation among automobile manufacturers and automotive parts makers.
JIS has allowed Hyundai Automotive Group to maintain quality levels of automotive parts in Korea and abroad as well as to cope with overseas demand with big fluctuations. The strategy is one of the driving forces behind Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors¡¯s rapid growth.
Hundai Mobis has built a plant in Ohio State, the United States, to supply a complete set of modules to Chrysler for the production of its mainstay jeep Wrangler.
The company set up a module plant in Michigan in 2010 to supply modules for the Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango.
Hyundai Mobis has maintained a partnership with Chrysler thanks to trust based on quality and timely deliveries.
The Korean automotive parts maker is also a supplier of such added value core automotive parts as lamps, breaks and electronic components to such global automakers as GM, BMW and Volkswagen.
Hyundai Mobis, armed with a global production network, is placed in a preferred position to attract orders from global automakers.
The Korean automotive parts maker operates research institutes and quality centers in the United States, China, India and Europe to have synergetic effects with local production centers.
Hyundai Mobis has a so-called non-stop process in which overseas research institutes develop automotive parts, and they are test-operated at labs before they are turned over to production centers.
The process is designed to secure core parts tailored to meet local demands.

Hyundai Mobis posted 784.7 trillion won in operating profit in the second quarter on a consolidated basis, a 13 percent surge over the same period of 2015. The company chalked up 9.854 trillion won in the second quarter, up 11.9 percent on a YoY basis and 843.8 billion won in net profit, a 1.5 percent decline from the 2nd quarter of 2015.
The company¡¯s better-than-expected results were owed to a recovery in car deliveries by Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors in China and a rise in revenues from the selling of value added modules and automotive parts for Korean and foreign deluxe automakers.
Park Young-ho, researcher at Mirae Asset Daewoo, said, ¡°Hyundai Mobis¡¯s main clients, Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors saw global car deliveries, including ones in the Chinese market, surge 20 percent in the second quarter of the year, and Hyundai
