The 15th World Korean Business Convention will be held for three days starting Sept. 27, 2016, at the International Convention Center Jeju (ICC Jeju) in the southern resort island of Jeju.
The event is a platform for South Korean entrepreneurs and business professionals working at home and overseas to establish business relationships.
This year¡¯s World Korean Business Convention is hosted by Overseas Korean Foundation and organized by Jeju provincial government and Maekyung Media Group. It will open under the theme ¡°New Changes & Possibility, Hansang Network.¡±
Kolao Group Chairman Oh Sei-young will head the convention that is expected to bring together about 3,000 Korean business professionals, who are actively leading businesses in Korea and overseas representing some 214 firms. They will operate some 259 booths at the convention.
The convention will offer various programs such as industrial exhibition, one-on-one business meetings, and seminars, as well as a job that involves Korean-led companies around the world.
¡°We have endeavored to invite Korean entrepreneurs and business experts all across the world to further expand their business network this year,¡± said Lee Young-sun, a general manager at Overseas Korean Foundation.
The Hansang Network has been meeting every year since 2002 to strengthen a commercial network stretching around the globe, which has been a huge growth engine for overseas Korean business people.
The Mingling Program will further upgrade the annual meeting to be more effective for Korean business people working overseas.
Through the Mingling Program, participants from all corners of the world will be able to meet with each other to share their views on the business conditions in their sectors of the world and discuss what they can do to do business with each other.
The Mingling Program will be divided up into the national session, regional and special sessions so that overseas Korean business people can meet with domestic business people to discuss businesses and exchange business information.
In the regional session, the participants will review business conditions in Korea and discuss ways to advance into the global market. In the industrial session, the agenda will include discussions on new technologies and food processing so that the participants are able to continue sharing information on the subject as part of a new industrial trend.
In the special session, the subject for discussion will be the investment strategy for the three provinces in China¡¯s northeast region to show the diversification of the convention.
In the corporate exhibition, the materials on display will reflect the most recent economic trends so that the participants will be able to generate new business results, as they will include new technologies developed in Korea and the SME products that can be exported abroad to show a new vision for the generation of reformative products.
Also on the agenda is the Hansang Business Platform to explain investment information on Juju Island and the IR Show for the franchise enterprises.
The Jeju Administration and the popular franchise enterprises will try to capture some investments from Hansang members through the session.
A subject that is very important for the overseas Korean business people at the Jeju convention will be creating jobs for youths in their mother country.
Last year, the ¡°Hansang and Youths Go Together¡± drew huge attention at the convention for hiring many global talents. And this year, many more jobs for youths may be created, as the convention will have more participants than ever.
This year¡¯s featured speakers will include Vice Chairman Chung Yong-jin of the Shinsegye Group, and Vice Chairman Kwon Young-soo of LG U+. Vice Chairman Chung will speak at the Hansang Creative Conference, while Vice Chairman Kwon will speak on the creation of businesses and CEO leadership also at the Hansang Creative Conference on Sept. 28, the second day of the convention.
