Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that Vietnam always treasures and creates favorable conditions for all foreign enterprises and investors, including Kumho Asiana, to do business in the country.
He expressed hope that Kumho Asiana will continue expanding its investments there, while increasing cooperation in culture and education. Vietnam will further improve its investment environment to draw more foreign enterprises, particularly Korean enterprises, the PM said.
Chairman Park Sam Koo thanked Prime Minister Phuc and the Vietnamese government for facilitating the group¡¯s investment and trade activities in the country. He said besides trade, Kumho-Asiana also pays attention to cultural and charity activities in Vietnam, such as presenting scholarships to poor students.
According to him, the group will implement more programmes and projects to contribute to boosting the cooperation and mutual understanding among businesses and people of the two countries.
Park Sam-koo informed the host of his group¡¯s operations in Vietnam, saying that Asiana Airlines is the first carrier launching direct flights to Vietnam and now operates the largest number of flights between the two nations.
The group has effectively implemented a number of projects in Vietnam , he said, adding that the Kumho Asiana Scholarship and Cultural Foundation has granted 1,100 scholarships to Vietnamese students since its establishment in 2007.
He affirmed that Kumho Asiana will increase investments in areas of Vietnamese concern, thus making practical contributions to the country¡¯s socio-economic development as well as developing the Vietnam-RoK relations in a more comprehensive and sustainable manner.
Another six outstanding Vietnamese students in the Republic of Korea (RoK) were granted scholarships from the Kumho Asiana Group, each worth nearly $4,000, on March 5 in Seoul.
The event was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to the ROK Pham Huu Chi and the Group¡¯s Chairman, Park Sam-koo, among others. Park hailed the students¡¯ contributions to community activities and expressed his hope that they, together with the other 7,000 Vietnamese students in the country, will continue fueling the development of Vietnam and the Vietnam-ROK relationship.
He affirmed that Kumho Asiana will continue their practical contributions to the development of the two countries. For his part, Ambassador Chi spoke highly of the Group¡¯s efforts to contribute to social activities and actively support Vietnamese students both in the country and the homeland.
