KEPCO KPS marked the 32nd anniversary of its founding at the KEPCO KPS headquarters in Naju, Jeollanam-do, on April 4. It also coincided with a ceremony to declare a new corporate identity stressing challenging spirit and performance.
In accordance with the new corporate identity, ¡°KEPCO KPS pursuing challenges and recognizing performances,¡± the Korean power service provider said it plans to establish a powerful corporate culture designed to aggressively cope with such rapidly changing business conditions as Korea¡¯s unprecedented low growth rate and ever-rising competition of the power maintenance market.
Under the catchphrase ¡°Let¡¯s Act in an Innovative Fashion and Grow through Challenging,¡± KEPCO KPS plans to work out action plans, calling for creating an environment for breaking the mold, strengthening organizational chemistry, and stressing organizational operation based on a merit system.
While delivering a commemorative speech at the anniversary event, KEPCO KPS President Choi Yeu-geun said, ¡°We have to be armed with a creative and business-friendly mindset by thinking out of the box to brace for the business environment filled with uncertainties.¡± He urged his executives and staff members to make KEPCO KPS a customer-oriented company that aggressively tries to explore new business arenas with a challenging spirit.
President Choi said he would push for institutional reform so that the new corporate culture can take root in the structure. He also called for all KEPCO KPS members¡¯ strong determination and strenuous efforts to achieve Vision 2025 in accordance with the new corporate identity.
KEPCO KPS declared the Vision 2025, calling for 3 trillion won in sales, raising the per capita productivity to 450 million won and increasing the portion of new growth engine projects to more than 38 percent by 2025. The company held a ceremony to declare the vision of making KEPCO KPS a global top power plant total service provider at the KEPCO KPS headquarters building in Naju on Jan. 21. According to the vision, the company set three strategies designed to cope with rapidly changing business conditions: retaining the conventional businesses; expanding new business models; and securing long-term growth businesses. KEPCO KPS also set 12 strategic tasks and 36 detailed strategic tasks.
KEPCO KPS Keeps Challenging to Survive Crisis
In his New Year¡¯s message, KEPCO KPS President Choi Yeu-geun said, ¡°We have to renew a companywide sense of crisis, undergo development changes to the extent of innovation and ensure organizational changes to survive the rapidly-changing business conditions of today.¡±
KEPCO KPS President Choi told his executives and staff members to look at the current situation to specify and clarify the company¡¯s business portfolios and goals. Choi made the remarks at a ceremony to kick off the 2016 business year at the innovative city of Bitgaram, Naju, on Jan. 4.
¡°The future will make a difference, depending on how much we make preparations, and we should continue to challenge toward the future full of hope,¡± he said.
KEPCO KPS President Choi revealed his company¡¯s future management goals, which include ramping up the competitive edge of existing businesses, expanding new growth engine business areas, securing long-term growth businesses and establishing a new corporate culture. He urged his executives and staff members to achieve these goals.
President Choi took time out to exchange greetings and give KEPCO KPS staff words of encouragement following the ceremony.
