Korea Housing and Urban Guarantee Corp. (HUG) won the “S Award” at the 2015 Public Organization Customer Satisfaction Awards presented by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance on Feb. 23, the company said one week later.
The MOSF said it reviewed customer satisfaction scores by 177 state-owned firms to boost the competitive strengths of the public firms and HUG won the S Award for the category involving upgrading of livelihoods of customers, along with the Korea Deposit Insurance Corp. Five companies won the A-grade awards, 11 companies won B-grade awards and three firms took home D-grade awards from the survey conducted by MOSF.
HUG officials said the top award is the recognition of HUG’s effort to improve its customer service through such facilities as the monitoring of customers’ opinions, tailor-made education for HUG’s staff to upgrade the customer service and other ways to boost customer service.
“We will continue to improve our customer services so that the people would realize happy living through the customer satisfaction management dedicated to the purpose,” the company said in a statement.
Since the beginning, Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee has been playing a pivotal role in supporting the housing industry, spending a total of 566 trillion won on warranties, which includes the amount spent on repairing defects for approximately 2.96 million households and selling nearly 3.77 million apartments.
Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee has carried out the guaranteed obligation for many households suffering from the suspension of construction due to the bankruptcy of home builders by providing them with compensation or by continuing the construction on behalf of the bankrupted company.
“In addition, we have injected approximately 3 trillion won as a means of liquidity support to promote national economy and the housing industry that has entered state of depression due to the financial crisis in America and Europe,” they said. “We have proceeded the purchasing project for unsold apartments and REITs of unsold apartments, transferred business for guaranteeing to sell apartments in terms of funds, and worked on P-CBO purchasing businesses according to the repurchase agreements.”
Korea Housing Guarantee has been contributing to the development of the housing industry as a public company specializing in home warranty.
Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee understands its social responsibility and roles as a public company; thus the company volunteer team said it will pour its efforts into social responsibility activities and other activities to “share love and guarantee happiness,” hoping that they will move one step closer to their clients.
Within the case of constructing housing after receiving “housing construction plan approval,” this guarantee system is responsible for refunding deposits and advanced payment (2/3 of the tenants should agree) when the contract cannot be discharged (including official inspection and registration of ownership retention) due to bankruptcy.
Guarantee for Housing Completion is based on Clause 8 of regulations in relation to housing supply and this is to be presented to the competent markets when tenants’ application is made.
The sum of security deposits and advanced payment received from the landlords will be guaranteed from tenants’ application date until the registration date of ownership preservation including official inspection dates.
This guarantee is responsible for repairs occurring within the effective period (one to 10 years) and the guarantee for repair form is to be submitted for an official housing inspection or generated to the construction company’s site inspector at its sales conversion (Housing Act Clause 60).
Three percent of the total construction fee (difference from project fee and land charge) will be compensated until the expiry date of repair commitment period.
