Chairman of Yesco takes over helm of city gas association on March 9 and also promises to build base for the association's future growth and undertake diverse welfare activities

Chairman Koo Ja-chul took over as the top official of the Korea City Gas Association in a ceremony held on March 9. The event took place at the InterContinental Hotel in southern Seoul with some 150 people from government and related industries attending. It was led by Vice Minister Woo Tae-hee of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Chairman Park Ki-dong of the Korea Gas Safety Corp., among others.
In his inaugural speech, the new chairman said he would like to lead the association to build the base for its growth to strengthen future roles and undertake diverse welfare activities. He said the association should lead in the development of the city gas industry with support from all levels around the country.
Vice Minister Woo of the MOTIE and President Park of gave congratulatory speeches, followed by a video message from the chairman of Taiwan Gas Association.
A ¡°sand art¡± performance, with a theme of a ¡°second leap¡± for the gas association was also presented.
Former Chairman Lee Man-deuk was presented with a plaque of appreciation for his achievements as the 10th through 12th chairman.
Chairman Koo is a graduate of the University of Foreign Studies and worked for LG Trading assigned to the company¡¯s international branches including New York and Tokyo and currently is chairman of Yesco.
