Asiana Airlines Strengthens Int¡¯l Flights with A380 Super Passenger Jets to Rome, New York and Beijing
The air carrier introduced Internet and mobile ticketing system for comfort of passengers in securing tickets and improving in-flight services

Asiana Airlines has grown in leaps and bounds since its launch in 1988, with the international carrier flying to 77 cities in 25 countries around the world, in addition to 10 domestic flight routes.

The airline also has cargo flights to 27 cities in 12 countries and the air carrier put into flight services two A380 super passenger jets in May following the deliveries of two similar super passenger jets last year to strengthen its super passenger jet fleet and improve the international flight services. These new super passenger jets now serve the airline¡¯s flights to Rome, New York and Beijing, among its flights to major cities in the world. Last year, the airline added the new deluxe airplanes to its route to Astana, Kazakhstan.

The air carrier has been working to boost its image as an international airline by improving its competitive power in all areas of its operation. The airline upgraded its airplane fleet, international flight routes and in-flight services to make its passengers more comfortable from ground services to in-light care. The air carrier has also strengthened its marketing and social contribution to boot its image at home and abroad. 

The airline introduced the Internet mobile ticket reservation system for passengers boarding the international flights at Gimpo Airport and Incheon Int¡¯l Airport for the first time in May. The airline also introduced the Self Back Drop Counter System, which allows passengers to check in and handle their cargoe by themselves.

Passengers can use the Internet or their smartphones to get tickets and go directly to security without checking in at the counter.

The air carrier also added French and Chinese (simple version) to its homepages for personal computers and mobiles, an in-flight service, which is already in several key foreign languages including English, Chinese (simple version), Russian and Japanese in addition to Korean.

The airline has also been providing its support to various events in the 50th anniversary of the reopening of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan in February, including exchange programs between the two neighboring countries.

The airline invited 30 Japanese tourists to its ¡°Seoul Gurume Event¡± in Korea, which was designed to provide Korean foods and cultural events to invited Japanese tourists so that they can learn what the Korean foods and culture are like.

From March to August, the airline invited 250 foreign residents in Korea including students to its Global Marketer Program so that they can enjoy Korean traditional music.

Established in 1988 with the management ideology, ¡°maximum safety and customer satisfaction through service,¡± by 2015 Asiana Airlines developed into a truly global airline, with a fleet of more than 84 Aircraft.

Asiana Airlines rapidly expanded since its establishment in 1988 to become a mid-sized, global carrier. 

In December 1998, the airline operated the presidential airplane for the first time. 

The Airline was listed in KOSDAQ In December 1999. On Jan. 28, 2003, the airline became a full Star Alliance member, expanding its worldwide network and global brand. In 2004, the airline added the Airbus A330 and the Boeing 777-200ER to its fleet, and expanded its routes into mainland China. Currently it provides international services to 71 cities in 23 countries on 91 routes, and domestic services to 12 cities on 14 routes. It also provides international cargo services to 29 cities in 14 countries on 28 routes by Asiana Cargo, the airline's freight division. 

In 2012, the airline had net sales of $5.3 billion.
