Elevating Customer Satisfaction to Level of Private Sector
In an effort to satisfy people¡¯s demand, the existing elevator call center has been reorganized into the Comprehensive Elevator Civil Service Consultation Center (1566-1277). It is operated by K.E-safe and the Ministry of Public Safety and Security. The revamped center offers consulting services between noon and 1 p.m., which has been interrupted so far, handling 100 cases from civil services, one-fifth of the center¡¯s daily average total of 500 cases. The center is now in operation around the clock in the interest of customers¡¯ convenience.

K.E-safe implements rotational education and other programs for officials of 30 branches and offices across the nation in the second half of this year to promote customer satisfaction with the goal of halving customer complaints.
Lastly, veteran inspectors are reexamining elevators found to violate inspection guidelines. Teams are in place to handle complaints from customers within 24 hours.
Such departments as Customer Support Office are participating in programs designed to promote customer satisfaction.
The ¡°Voice of Customer¡± survey conducted by K.E-safe in the first half of this year showed that customer satisfaction responses shot up 1,214 percent, while customer complaints dropped 47.3 percent.
K.E-safe strives to upgrade elevator safety services to the level of private companies by focusing on endless innovation and research.
K.E-safe operates the Elevator Information Center, which handles all data on the life cycles of some 530,000 elevators in operation across nation, ranging from installation to scrapping. The institute implements research with companies and universities, which is part of the Government 3.0 Collaboration Tasks, and has introduced a homegrown smart inspection system designed to put inspection outcomes into database and enable accounting, cutting down on the time civil services are handled and enhancing inspection reliability. The smart inspection system allows an inspection crew to commute to inspection sites and return home without heading to office.
K.E-safe also develops and implement diverse policies designed to promote the development of the elevator industry. K.E-safe operates the Korea Elevator Manpower Development Institute, which is designed to cultivate elevator manpower. The institute organized the International Lift Expo Korea 2014 to extend a helping hand to SMEs¡¯ exploration of foreign markets and to implement cooperation projects with such countries as China and Russia.
